Draft Scouting Report
Tate Ratledge is a three-year starter who played on the biggest stage his entire career and in big games. He’s a physical player in both phases who plays with a high IQ and good recognition. He has excellent demeanor. I would expect him to see the field early at the next level.
- 2024: First-team All-American (AFCA) and third-team All-American (AP)
- 2024: Three-year starter at RG who allowed just two sacks in 36 games
- Powerful with excellent ability to unload his hips and hands as a run blocker while also using good pad level.
- Strong anchor as a protector who is also good at recognizing blitzes and games and passing them off properly
- Excellent demeanor and leadership
- Struggled some coming back from tightrope surgery this season and missed essentially the entire 2023 with an injury.
- Quicker and more advanced pass rushers have given him some issues
- 40-yard dash: 4.97 seconds
- Vertical jump: 32 inches
- Broad jump: 9 feet, 5 inches
- 3-cone drill: 7.38 seconds

Lions' Tate Ratledge: Lions add Round 2 OL help
The Lions selected Ratledge in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 57th overall.
Ratledge (6-foot-7, 308 pounds) has a frame better suited to tackle but lacks the arms (32 and 1/4 inches) to play the position. The Lions were evidently not concerned about Ratledge maintaining leverage against shorter defensive linemen, and if they're correct in their assessment, there aren't many other weaknesses in his game. Ratledge was a productive starter at Georgia and his athleticism is of blue-chip quality (4.97-second 40-yard dash, 32-inch vertical jump, 113-inch broad jump, 7.38-second three-cone drill), so he will presumably compete for the starting right guard role in Detroit.
