  • Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair: Gets three-game ban for illegal hit

The NFL announced Tuesday that Al-Shaair has received a three-game suspension for his violent hit on quarterback Trevor Lawrence in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

In its statement, the NFL said that Al-Shaair's suspension was in part imposed due to "repeated violations of rules intended to protect the health and safety of players." The 27-year-old linebacker had previously been fined for punching Bears running back Roschon Johnson in Week 2 and was fined again for a late hit out of bounds on Titans running back Tony Pollard in Week 12. The hit on Lawrence -- which resulted in the quarterback sustaining a concussion after he had given himself up on a six-yard run -- appears to have been the last straw before the NFL elected to suspend Al-Shaair for the first time in his career. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Al-Shaair will appeal the ban, but if the three-game suspension is upheld by the joint officers appointed by the NFL and NFL Players' Association, he'll be eligible to return to action Week 18 in Tennessee. Devin White could be the next man up to pick up more snaps at linebacker alongside Henry To'oTo'o and Neville Hewitt while Al-Shaair is out of the lineup, though Houston could get Christian Harris (calf) back from injured reserve at some point after its Week 14 bye.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Browns' Kadarius Toney: One target, one touch in loss

Toney had one carry for three yards and failed to secure his lone target in Monday's 41-32 loss to Denver in Week 13.

Toney, who was one of six active wideouts, was elevated from the practice squad for the second time this season. He has a combined one target, two carries and 12 snaps in those two contests. There was an opportunity present Monday when Cedric Tillman (concussion) was inactive, but fellow practice teamer Michael Woods (66 snaps, five targets) emerged as the third wideout.

  • Browns' Dustin Hopkins: One miss in loss

Hopkins converted one of two field-goal attempts and all three extra-point kicks in Monday's 41-32 loss to the Broncos in Week 13.

Hopkins missed from 47 yards out on Cleveland's opening drive and connected from 45 yards in the second quarter. The six-point night was the most in four games for Hopkins. The placekicker's 70-percent accuracy rate (16-of-23) on field goals is the least of the Browns' issues, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the team bring in competition next summer.

  • Jordan Akins TE | CLE

Browns' Jordan Akins: Little impact in loss

Akins did not catch his lone target in Monday's 41-32 loss to Denver in Week 13.

Like many of Cleveland's receivers, Akins has experienced an uptick in activity and production with Jameis Winston at quarterback; however, he had a limited role Monday when Winston threw 58 times. Top tight end David Njoku had a team-high 17 targets Monday. Winston's not afraid to spread the targets around, so Akins, who averaged four targets over the three preceding games, could get some looks Week 14 against the Steelers.

  • Browns' Michael Woods: Makes season debut

Woods caught three of five targets for 43 yards in Monday's 41-32 loss to the Broncos in Week 13.

Woods was elevated from the practice squad and made his season debut. Filling in for an injured Cedric Tillman (concussion), Woods saw his first action since Week 17 of the 2022 season and was the fourth-most targeted Brown in a game where Cleveland quarterback Jameis Winston chucked the ball 58 times. The wideout played 66 snaps and appears to be the preferred option ahead of Jamari Thrash (15 snaps, shoulder), Kadarius Toney (six) and Jaelon Darden (special teams only). Prior to Tillman's concussion, he had been heavily involved in the Winston-led offense, which bodes well for Woods if there are additional opportunities in the final four weeks of the season.

  • Jerome Ford RB | CLE

Browns' Jerome Ford: Gains 62 yards on 10 touches

Ford rushed nine times for 41 yards while catching his lone target for 21 yards in Monday's 41-32 loss to Denver.

Ford finished as the Browns' leading rusher while tying starter Nick Chubb in carries (nine). The latter benefited from a receiving touchdown late in Monday's defeat, but Ford got extra run in the second half with the Browns playing from behind in the high-scoring affair. Ford has been getting enough work to warrant consideration in deeper formats ahead of Sunday's rematch against the Steelers (20-59-2 vs. PIT in Week 12).

  • Marvin Mims WR | DEN

Broncos' Marvin Mims: Scores from 93 yards out

Mims had three catches (four targets) for 105 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 41-32 win over the Browns.

Mims was the leading receiver for Denver after breaking off a 93-yard touchdown reception in an exciting win on Monday Night Football. The 22-year-old only gained 12 yards on his remaining two receptions, reminding fantasy managers how little the wideout can be involved in this offense. Mims has only been a reserve for Denver in his sophomore season, resulting in a previous game-high of 49 yards in 12 games prior to Monday's output. With a bye week on tap, Mims shouldn't be a top waiver add in Week 14.

  • Broncos' Jaleel McLaughlin: Receives starter's workload Monday

McLaughlin rushed 14 times for 84 yards while catching one of two targets for no gain in Monday's 41-32 win over Cleveland.

McLaughlin received 10 more carries than any teammate in Monday's primetime matchup. This comes on the heels of the sophomore leading Denver in rushing yards a week prior. Audric Estime remained in the mix with three carries for 12 yards, but Javonte Williams had the worst rushing day of the trio despite punching in a short touchdown. McLaughlin handled the increased workload in stride, making him a potential hot pickup coming out of the Broncos' upcoming bye week.

  • Jamien Sherwood ILB | NYJ

Jets' Jamien Sherwood: Minimal production in Week 13

Sherwood recorded four solo tackles in Sunday's 26-21 loss to Seattle.

Sherwood was limited to just four tackles against the Seahawks, his lowest total since Week 1 in San Francisco. With C.J. Mosley (neck) on the cusp of returning to the field, Sherwood will likely operate in a less significant role in the near future.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Cracks century mark in win

Sutton brought in six of nine targets for 102 yards in Monday's 41-32 win over the Browns.

Sutton led the Broncos in both targets and receptions Monday, but he was second to Marvin Mims after the latter broke off a 93-yard touchdown in the high-scoring affair. The 29-year-old Sutton has posted three 100-plus-yard performances over the last six weeks, chipping in three touchdowns over that span as well. With Denver entering a bye week, Sutton will have to wait until Sunday, Dec. 15 against Indianapolis in order to continue his current tear.
