Reds' Hunter Greene: Punches out eight in win
Greene (3-2) earned the win Saturday against the Rockies, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out eight without issuing a walk.
After taking a drubbing against the Orioles in his last start, the Cincinnati ace looked much sharper in this 98-pitch performance, generating an incredible 20 whiffs. The long ball bit Greene again, as all three Colorado runs were scored on homers by Michael Toglia and Adael Amador. Greene now sports a 2.70 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 43:6 K:BB over 36.2 innings, and he is scheduled to make his next start at home against the Cardinals.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Hit hard in loss
Greene (2-2) took the loss against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings.
Greene entered Saturday having allowed just one earned run across three April starts, but he was tagged for back-to-back homers in the first inning. The 25-year-old snapped a scoreless streak of 18.2 innings and yielded five total extra-base hits in his shortest outing of the season. Despite the hiccup, he'll take a stellar 2.35 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 35:6 K:BB across 30.2 innings into a matchup with the Rockies at Coors Field next weekend.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Extends scoreless innings streak
Greene (2-1) earned the win against the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed two hits and one walk while striking out eight across seven scoreless innings.
Greene got off to a bit of a rocky start after allowing a double and a walk in the first inning, but he was able to escape the frame without allowing a run. He yielded one more hit in the second inning, but he proceeded to retire the next 17 batters he faced and extended his scoreless streak to 18.2 innings in the process. Greene generated 18 first-pitch strikes and 16 whiffs across 98 pitches (71 strikes), and the 25-year-old right-hander has started the season with a 0.98 ERA and 0.58 WHIP across 27.2 innings, with his 31 strikeouts ranking second in the National League behind MacKenzie Gore (32). Greene is tentatively slated to face the Orioles on the road next weekend, when he'll look to earn his third straight win.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Shines again for first victory
Greene (1-1) earned the win over San Francisco on Monday, allowing four hits and issuing one walk while striking out seven batters over 8.2 scoreless innings.
Greene was dominant in his third start of the campaign, racking up 19 whiffs and throwing 76 of 104 pitches for strikes. He allowed just one extra-base hit -- a Mike Yastrzemski double -- and didn't give up more than one hit in any inning. Greene came within one out of his second career complete game and shutout, but he was pulled with two outs in the ninth after giving up a single and issuing his first walk of the contest. Still, it was another sterling performance by the right-hander, who has yielded just three runs over 20.2 frames while posting a 23:3 K:BB through his first three starts. He'll look to keep rolling his next time out, which is projected to be a favorable home matchup versus Pittsburgh.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Handed tough-luck loss
Greene (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers after giving up one run on three hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out eight.
The right-hander pounded the zone as he threw 74 of 94 pitches for strikes and generated 22 whiffs, but an RBI double by Josh Smith during the fourth inning was enough to saddle Greene with the loss since the Reds were blanked for a second straight game. The 25-year-old is off to a strong start in 2025 through two outings with just three runs allowed and a 16:2 K:BB across 12 innings, though he's still searching for his first victory.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Punches out eight
Greene didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Giants, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out eight.
A two-run Heliot Ramos homer in the fourth inning accounted for all of the Giants' scoring against Greene in what was an otherwise impressive opener for the right-hander. The 25-year-old Greene is coming off an excellent 2024 campaign where he went 9-5 with a 2.75 ERA and 169 strikeouts across 150.1 innings. He's currently lined up to face the Brewers on the road in his second outing.

Greene allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out six over four innings in Saturday's spring start against the Royals.
Greene made his fifth Cactus League start and appears to be dialing it in ahead of his Opening Day assignment. After a couple of shaky outings to open the spring, Greene has allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks over 12 innings in his last three appearances. He worked his pitch count up to 74 (49 strikes) on Saturday and will make one more spring start before taking the ball for the regular-season opener March 27 against the Giants.
