Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Reassigned to minor-league camp
De Paula was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Dodgers on Sunday.
De Paula went 4-for-9 with a double, three RBI, four runs scored, three stolen bases and three walks while striking out two times over eight games during spring training. The outfielder played in 52 games with High-A Great Lakes last season, batting .253 with four home runs, 21 RBI, 32 runs scored and 13 stolen bases over 178 at-bats, and he'll likely open the 2025 campaign by returning to Great Lakes.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Moving up to High-A
De Paula has been promoted from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to High-A Great Lakes, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.
De Paula slashed .279/.388/.447 with six home runs and 14 stolen bases in 55 games at Rancho Cucamonga to earn a promotion to a higher level. The outfielder just turned 19 last month and has some of the biggest upside of any position player prospect in the game.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Slow start for Quakes
De Paula is hitting .227 with zero home runs and a 27.3 percent strikeout rate in 24 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Considering De Paula logged a 118 wRC+ in 74 games at Single-A last year, it's surprising to see him struggling to this extent (81 wRC+) in a return to the Cal League. He is 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts and has eight doubles and two triples, but his strikeout rate is up from 17.9 percent last year and his walk rate is down from 13.5 percent to 9.1 percent.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: As advertised at Single-A
De Paula is slashing .303/.374/.461 with one home run, three steals and a 13.1 percent strikeout rate in his last 22 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
The 6-foot-3 outfielder skipped over complex ball and was assigned directly to Single-A right after turning 18 in late May. He hit .138 with 10 strikeouts in his first eight games but has been as advertised since then. De Paula figures to eventually tap into at least plus power, so it's encouraging to see him laying the groundwork with a strong hit tool.

Dodgers' Josue De Paula: Leaps over complex ball
De Paula was assigned to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday.
The Dodgers' best prospect with zero full-season experience entering the season, De Paula gets this assignment just days ahead of the Arizona Complex League opening. He is making the rare jump from the Dominican Summer League to Single-A without playing complex ball. The 6-foot-3 outfielder has massive power potential and showed a keen eye at the plate as a 17-year-old in the DSL (31:32 K:BB in 53 games).
