Rockies' Evan Justice: Clears waivers
The Rockies outrighted Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
The southpaw will remain in the organization after he went unclaimed off waivers when the Rockies designated him for assignment last weekend. Justice made 10 relief appearances in the majors over the previous two seasons but has pitched exclusively at Triple-A so far in 2025, logging an 8.10 ERA and 1.94 WHIP over 6.2 innings.

Rockies' Evan Justice: DFA'd by Colorado
The Rockies designated Justice for assignment Sunday.
The left-hander has been at Triple-A Albuquerque for the first few weeks of the season, but he's lost his place on the 40-man roster after giving up six earned runs with a 6:9 K:BB in his first five outings. Justice could remain with the Isotopes if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Justice struggled mightily in the minor leagues last season, finishing with an 8.76 ERA and 2.52 WHIP across 24.2 frames at Albuquerque. He showed signs of improvement during spring training, allowing two runs and striking out six batters over three innings, though the 26-year-old southpaw likely has quite a bit of work to do before the Rockies feel comfortable inserting him into their bullpen.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Back in minors
The Rockies optioned Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
Justice will head back to the minors just four days after joining the big club and recording one out in his season debut Sunday. The 26-year-old southpaw owns a 9.90 ERA through 20 innings at Albuquerque, though he's surrendered just one earned run across his last six minor-league appearances. Jaden Hill was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Promoted to majors
The Rockies recalled Justice from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Orioles. He faced two batters in relief, striking out one and walking the other.
Justice's brief relief appearance was his first in the big leagues in 2024, as he had been added to the 40-man roster last August but hadn't received a call-up from Triple-A this season after being optioned to the minors coming out of spring training. The lefty reliever submitted a 9.90 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and 21:29 K:BB in 20 innings at Albuquerque this season, but he had given up just one earned run in his last seven outings prior to getting called up.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Healthy again at Triple-A
Triple-A Albuquerque reinstated Justice (undisclosed) from its 7-day injured list Friday.
Justice made his first appearance for Albuquerque since April 13 on Saturday, giving up one earned run on three walks while retiring one batter in Albuquerque's 7-4 win over Sacramento. The reliever was cleared to rejoin Albuquerque after making three rehab appearances, two in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and one with Single-A Fresno.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Shut down with injury at Triple-A
Triple-A Albuquerque placed Justice on its 7-day injured list April 17 with an unspecified injury.
Before being deactivated, Justice made seven relief appearances for Albuquerque, giving up seven earned runs on six hits and eight walks over five innings. The 25-year-old lefty retains a spot on the Rockies' 40-man roster, but he'll stay on the minor-league IL for now.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Optioned to Albuquerque
The Rockies optioned Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
Justice was in the race to win a spot in Colorado's Opening Day bullpen, but he will instead begin the year in the minors after giving up five earned runs in eight spring innings. Justice was quickly promoted through the Rockies' farm system and into the majors last season after starting the year in High-A ball. His performance steadily declined as he advanced to higher levels, so a demotion to Triple-A could allow Justice to get his feet back underneath him.

Rockies' Evan Justice: Optioned to Triple-A
Justice was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
Justice was summoned from the bullpen both Saturday and Sunday and likely would have been unavailable for a day or two, so the Rockies decided to send him to the minors to open up a roster spot for fellow reliever Daniel Bard, who was activated from the injured list in the corresponding move.
