  • Giants' Logan Webb: Excellent month continues in win

Webb (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Brewers after allowing six hits and three walks in 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out six. Other than escaping a bases-loaded jam in the second inning, Webb didn't face very much trouble from Milwaukee. He scattered six singles and threw a season-high 106 pitches, also tossing at least six innings for the fourth time in his last five starts. The star right-hander holds a sparkling 1.80 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 33:4 K:BB over 25 frames in the month of April, but he'll encounter a tough test in his next scheduled outing on the road against the Padres.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Fans 12 in tough loss

Webb (2-1) took the loss Friday as the Giants were blanked 2-0 by the Angels, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings. He struck out 12 without walking a batter. A rare Matt Chapman error at third base contributed to a two-run second inning for the Halos, and that was all the offense either pitching staff allowed. Webb's dozen strikeouts were his highest total since his first start of the 2023 campaign, but he's already recorded double-digit Ks in two of his first five outings this season after failing to do so at all over 33 trips to the mound in 2024. The 28-year-old righty will take a 2.40 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 38:7 K:BB through 30 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Brewers.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Shaky in win

Webb (2-0) earned the win against the Yankees on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts over five innings. Webb yielded three runs over the first two innings but battled to hold the Yankees scoreless over his final three frames. He generated 12 whiffs on 97 pitches but also found the strike zone on just 57 of them, tallying a season-high four walks. On the year, the 28-year-old has posted a strong 2.63 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB across 24 innings. He's slated for a road matchup with the Angels next weekend.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Dominates but gets no support

Webb settled for a no-decision Monday against Cincinnati, allowing four hits and striking out 10 batters over seven scoreless innings. Webb and Hunter Greene engaged in a pitchers' duel for most of the contest, as the game was scoreless until the Reds scored twice in the eighth inning. That was one frame after Webb departed following a masterful performance during which he racked up 10 punchouts and held Cincinnati to four baserunners (all on singles). Three of those singles came in the first two innings, and Webb finished his outing by retiring 16 of the final 17 batters he faced. The right-hander has begun the campaign in fine form, allowing just four runs while posting a 21:3 K:BB over 19 frames through three starts. He's tentatively slated for a tough matchup on the road against the Yankees his next time on the mound.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Keeps Astros in check in win

Webb (1-0) picked up the win after giving up one run on five hits and no walks in seven innings Tuesday against Houston. He struck out six. Webb faced the minimum number of batters through three innings Tuesday, but Jose Altuve took him deep to lead off the fourth frame. It was an otherwise excellent outing on the road by Webb, who tossed 100 pitches and induced three double plays to keep Houston's bats in check. On tap for the star right-hander is a matchup at home against the Reds, which tentatively lines up for early next week.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Fans five in Cactus League win

Webb recorded his second win of the spring by surrendering two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five over 4.2 innings during Monday's Cactus League victory over the Rockies. Webb navigated around trouble in the early going, giving up an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run homer in the third, but he still managed to come away with the win and had his swing and miss stuff working. Skipper Bob Melvin announced in February that Webb would serve as the club's Opening Day starter, so now it's just a matter of continuing to ramp up in preparation for the start of the 2025 regular season.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Confirmed as Opening Day starter

Giants manager Bob Melvin announced Friday that Webb will start Opening Day against the Reds on March 27, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The right-hander has firmly established himself as San Francisco's ace, so it's no surprise he'll be taking the ball in the season opener. It won't be the most favorable matchup at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, however. Webb made 33 starts in each of the past two seasons and posted a 3.47 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 172:50 K:BB across 204.2 innings during 2024.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Six strong innings in win

Webb (13-10) got the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday after throwing six shutout innings while allowing four hits and a walk. He struck out three. Webb was staked a seven-run lead by the third inning and that lead grew to 10 by the fifth. Still, he never let up and tossed his seventh outing of at least six scoreless innings this season. Tuesday was likely Webb's final start of the season. He'll finish as one of a handful of pitchers to surpass 200 innings this season and he currently sits 10th in the National League with a 3.47 ERA. Overall, Webb owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 172:50 K:BB in 204.2 innings.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Short start in loss

Webb (12-10) allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings to take the loss Friday versus the Padres. Webb failed to complete five innings for the first time since May 5. With the Giants essentially out of playoff contention, it appears manager Bob Melvin won't ask for too much of Webb down the stretch, especially since the ace has hit a rough patch with 17 runs allowed (16 earned) on 29 hits and six walks over his last 21 innings. The right-hander is now at a 3.53 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 161:47 K:BB through a major-league-leading 193.2 innings over 31 starts. Webb's next start is set to come on the road, but it's unclear if it'll be in Baltimore or Kansas City, as the Giants could get Robbie Ray (hamstring) back some time next week.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Allows 10 hits in win

Webb (12-9) picked up the win over the Padres on Saturday, allowing three runs on 10 hits and two walks over six innings while striking out three. Webb got knocked around early, allowing four consecutive batters to reach to open the contest, which would lead to two early runs coming across for San Diego. The right-hander gave up 10 hits on the night, which matched his season high, while allowing the leadoff man to reach in four of his six innings on the mound. However, he still managed to record his fourth quality start in his last six outings in addition to securing his 12th win of the campaign. Webb has now won five of his last six decisions (spanning eight starts), though he's also failed to record more than four strikeouts in three straight.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Stumbles against Marlins

Webb (11-9) allowed six runs on eight hits over six innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Miami. Webb turned in four scoreless frames before Miami plated four runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by Kyle Stowers' three-run shot. The Marlins scored another pair in the sixth. Webb has given up 10 runs over his last two starts after allowing just four total runs in five outings from Jul. 31 through Aug. 21. He's been tagged with at least four earned runs in 10 starts this season; he did that eight times during the 2023 season. Webb now owns a 3.43 ERA with a 154:44 K:BB through 183.2 frames. He's in line for a start in San Diego this weekend.

Webb allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Tuesday. Webb gave up two-run home runs to Jackson Chourio and Willy Adames. This was the first time in seven starts Webb has given up a homer, and the first time all year he's allowed multiple long balls. He also allowed more than two runs for the first time in six starts. Webb is now at a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 150:44 K:BB through 177.2 innings over 28 starts this year. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Marlins.

Webb allowed two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six batters over eight innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday. Webb got through his eight frames on just 93 pitches, 65 of which were strikes. He collected 15 whiffs among those offerings and logged his third straight quality start -- a stretch during which he's given up just three runs over 22.2 innings. Webb had a four-start winning streak snapped Wednesday due largely to a quiet San Francisco offense, but he's 5-1 since the All-Star break and hasn't given up a homer in any of his past six starts.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Shuts down Atlanta

Webb (11-8) earned the win over Atlanta on Thursday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 7.1 scoreless innings. All four of the hits against Webb were singles, and he didn't allow a runner to reach third base until there were two outs in the eighth inning. The right-hander registered his fourth consecutive win, and he has three quality starts during that span. Webb has surrendered just two runs while posting a 25:6 K:BB across 29 innings during the dominant four-start stretch.

Webb has now issued three or more walks in four of his last seven starts, pitching to a 4.03 ERA with 35:16 K:BB across 44.2 innings. Overall, the 27-year-old sports a 3.42 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 125:39 K:BB in 150 innings this season. Webb currently lines up to make his next start against the Tigers in Detroit this weekend.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Command issues in loss

Webb (7-8) took the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out four. Webb got off to a rough start, allowing four of the first five batters to reach, leading to two runs coming home for Colorado. Webb also issued a season-high four walks Saturday and has now allowed multiple runs in nine consecutive starts. Additionally, he's lost three of his last four decisions (spanning five starts).

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Roughed up in loss

Webb (7-7) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk over five innings while striking out four. Webb started the game strong, striking out three of the first six batters he faced while holding the Blue Jays scoreless over the first four innings. However, things began to unravel for the veteran right-hander in the fifth when he surrendered a three-run shot to Ernie Clement after giving up singles to two of the first three batters in the frame. Webb returned for the sixth, but he failed to retire any of the first four batters he faced before being relieved by Sean Hjelle, who didn't fare much better. Webb was charged with a season-high seven runs on the night and was unable to get through six innings for the first time in his last 12 starts. He has also surrendered multiple runs in eight consecutive outings.

  • Giants' Logan Webb: Submits quality start

Webb allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday. Webb had a rough fifth inning, but other than that, he was his usual steady self. With the Giants' rotation in shambles due to injuries, getting a longer start out of Webb is a positive for the team's situation. He's gone at least six innings in 10 straight appearances, posting a 2.86 ERA over 66 innings with a 61:14 K:BB in that span. That's just a bit better than his 3.12 ERA for the year, which comes with a 1.22 WHIP and 97:26 K:BB across 112.1 innings through 18 starts. Webb's next start is projected to be at Atlanta.

Webb struggled early, yielding two doubles and two singles as part of a three-run first inning before surrendering another run in the second frame. While Webb settled in afterward, the damage was already done, as the Giants failed to generate a hit until the seventh inning. The 27-year-old has completed at least six innings in nine consecutive starts and matched his season high in strikeouts Sunday. He's one of five players with 100 innings pitched this season and owns a 3.16 ERA and a 91:23 K:BB. Webb is scheduled for a home start against the Dodgers next weekend.
