Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Will need rehab assignment
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Hernandez (adductor) will require a rehab assignment before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Dodgersbeat reports.
While Roberts didn't divulge when exactly Hernandez will begin playing in rehab games, it should happen soon. The skipper noted when Hernandez went on the IL earlier this month that the outfield could be back in two weeks, and that timeline would have him returning mid-week next week.

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Close to being activated
Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Edman (ankle) is close to returning from the 10-day injured list, DodgersBeat.com reports.
Roberts didn't offer up a specific return date, but it appears Edman could be activated this weekend versus the Angels or early next week against the Diamondbacks. The 30-year-old suffered the ankle injury in late April and is poised to rejoin the Dodgers without embarking on a minor-league rehab assignment. Hyeseong Kim has taken advantage of the absence with a 1.038 OPS in his first 12 big-league contests, but Edman shouldn't have an issue maintaining a regular spot in the lineup after posting a .252/.295/.523 slash line with eight homers, two steals, 24 RBI and 19 runs in his first 30 games of the year.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Reaches three times in blowout
Betts went 1-for-1 with two walks, three runs and an RBI in Thursday's 19-2 romp over the Athletics.
All of Betts' plate appearances came in the first three innings, with his RBI coming on a single in the second. The Dodgers held a 13-2 lead at that point, so manager Dave Roberts elected to give Betts and a few other regulars some extra rest by pulling them from the contest. Betts has collected at least one RBI in four straight contests and is slashing .339/.397/.51 with two homers, 20 runs, 15 RBI and two stolen bases over his past 15 games.

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Remains hot with another homer
Pages went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 19-2 rout of the Athletics.
The Dodgers' offense put on a show in the blowout victory, and Pages was in the middle of it, going yard to cap a seven-run third inning. That gave Los Angeles a 13-2 lead, and Pages was one of three regulars pulled before the top of the next frame in order to get some extra rest. The long ball was his second in as many games and continued a hot 10-game stretch at the plate during which the outfielder is slashing .349/.364/.581 with the two homers, 10 RBI, seven runs and two stolen bases.

Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Gets on base three times in debut
Rushing went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Rushing got a fun first taste of major-league action in this lopsided win in his debut. He didn't look out of place, striking out just once and scoring each time he got on base. The 24-year-old was slashing .308/.424/.514 over 31 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his call-up Wednesday. He slots in as the backup to Will Smith at catcher, but Rushing can also push the struggling Michael Conforto for playing time in left field since Smith is likely to catch 4-to-5 games per week.

Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: On base five times in win
Kim went 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI, one stolen base and four runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
From the No. 9 hole, Kim was able to have another strong performance, earning his first three-hit game in the majors. He also drew his first two walks in the contest. Kim is now batting .429 with a home run, five RBI, nine runs scored and three steals across 30 plate appearances to begin his big-league career. He's seeing time at second base and in center field against right-handed pitchers, though he could soon take on a reduced role with Tommy Edman (ankle) nearing his return from the IL.

Dodgers' James Outman: Pops homer in blowout win
Outman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Outman stretched the Dodgers' lead to 16-2 in the sixth inning. This was his first multi-hit effort of the season, and two of his three hits so far have been homers. He's added four RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases across 24 plate appearances. Outman has recently been sharing center field with Hyeseong Kim against right-handed pitchers, while Chris Taylor frequently plays there versus southpaws.

Muncy went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Muncy had the first of the Dodgers' five homers in the contest, putting them ahead 3-1 with the first-inning blast. He added an RBI single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Muncy has homered in back-to-back contests, and over his last seven games, he's gone 9-for-27 (.333) with nine RBI. The third baseman's batting average is at a season-high .207 with a .664 OPS, three long balls, 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base across 41 games.

Ohtani went 2-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
This was Ohtani's first multi-homer game of the season. He contributed a sacrifice fly in the second inning, a three-run homer in the third and a two-run blast in the fourth to make a sizable impact in this rout. Ohtani joins Aaron Judge and Kyle Schwarber atop the major-league leaderboard with 15 homers this season, though the Dodgers' two-way superstar has hit eight of those long balls over his last 13 games. For the season, he's added a .310/.409/.673 slash line, 28 RBI, 48 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, eight doubles and four triples across 42 contests.

Dodgers' Matt Sauer: Lasts four innings in start
Sauer allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Thursday.
Sauer was fine in his first big-league start, but he didn't pitch long enough to qualify for the win in a 19-2 blowout. He gave up a run in each of the first two innings before settling in. Over 15.2 innings this season, Sauer has a 2.30 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB. He's got some starting experience in the minors, but he's been utilized as a middle reliever for the bulk of his time in the majors. Clayton Kershaw (toe) is poised to make his season debut this weekend, with Landon Knack a likelier bet to stick in the rotation than Sauer.

Dodgers' Landon Knack: Likely to stick in rotation
Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Knack is likely to serve as the Dodgers' fifth starter in the short term, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
The Dodgers' rotation has been consistently shuffled early this season, and that continued with Roki Sasaki (shoulder) being placed on the injured list this week and Clayton Kershaw (toe) nearing activation. Those moves would still leave them one starter short, and Knack appears to be the preferred option over the likes of Ben Casparius and Matt Sauer. Knack has a 5.89 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with a more impressive 20:8 K:BB across 18.1 innings this season.

Rushing is making his MLB debut Thursday night against the Athletics, starting at catcher and batting seventh.
With Will Smith getting to rest Thursday, Rushing will get his first major-league action. Rushing was called up Wednesday with Austin Barnes being designated for assignment. Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Wednesday against the Athletics in a 9-3 victory.
Ohtani jumped on Athletics starter Gunnar Hoglund's third pitch for a 403-foot blast in the first inning. The two-way star's bat has been so hot that the A's elected to intentionally walk him ahead of Mookie Betts with a runner on second in the eighth inning, though the strategy backfired when Betts doubled and Los Angeles went on to score five runs in the frame. Ohtani has been on a tear over his past 11 games, slashing .386/.491/.932 with six homers, four doubles, a triple, 12 RBI, 14 runs and a stolen base.
