Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Extends hit streak with homer
Chourio went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Sunday's 8-1 win over the Nationals.
Chourio was hitless until the eighth inning, when he swatted a three-run homer off Jackson Rutledge to extend the Brewers' advantage to six runs. The round tripper kept Chourio's hit streak alive, extending it to 11 games. During that stretch, he's 16-for-41 (.390) with three homers and three doubles. He'll take a .264/.297/.461 slash line into the All-Star break.

Brewers' Brice Turang: Goes yard Sunday
Turang went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 8-1 win over Washington.
Turang went back-to-back with Jackson Chourio for consecutive eighth-inning homers, giving the Brewers some insurance runs. The long ball was Turang's sixth of the season, and his first since June 22. The second baseman will head into the All-Star break in a minor slump, having just five hits in 38 at-bats over his last 11 contests.

Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Another stellar start
Peralta (11-4) picked up the win Sunday against Washington, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.
Peralta tallied a third consecutive quality start and pitched into the seventh inning for the first time since his second start of the season. The 29-year-old has come away with a win in six straight appearances, and he owns a 2.60 ERA and a 40:6 K:BB across 34.2 innings. He's tied with Max Fried for the league lead in wins. Peralta is slated to pitch against the Dodgers next weekend.

Brewers' Jacob Morrison: Taken by Brewers
The Brewers have selected Morrison with the 94th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A 6-foot-8 starting pitcher from Coastal Carolina, Morrison posted a 2.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 104:23 K:BB in 107.2 innings this spring. Morrison had Tommy John surgery early in his college career and has more untapped potential than the typical college starter.

Brewers' Frank Cairone: Drafted by Brewers
The Brewers have selected Cairone with the 68th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Cairone wasn't expected to go this high, but he impressed at the combine and has a high ceiling long term. A 6-foot-2, 195-pound prep lefty who turns 18 in September, Cairone could be throwing in the upper-90s as he adds weight to his frame.

Brewers' J.D. Thompson: Heading to Milwaukee
The Brewers have selected Thompson with the 59th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
A 6-foot lefty from Vanderbilt, Thompson's fastball sits in the 90-93 mph range (touches 96 mph) but it still played as a plus pitch in the SEC due to his command of the pitch and its impressive induced vertical break. He logged a 4.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 24.2 K-BB% in 90 innings as a junior, which was nearly identical to how he performed in 2024, albeit in just 52 innings. Thompson's secondary pitches vary from average to above-average, and it's possible he'll work to sharpen up those offerings and maybe remove one of his breaking balls from the mix. He should make it as a No. 4 starter in the big leagues if he continues to build off this year's career-best workload.

Brewers' Brady Ebel: Picked by Brewers
The Brewers have selected Ebel with the 32nd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Ebel can flat out hit. A lefty-hitting prep infielder from California, Ebel is hit-over-power, but he has plenty of untapped power potential, as he currently hits the ball on the ground too often and has plenty of room to fill out his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. He probably doesn't move well enough to stick at shortstop, but Ebel has an above-average arm and could provide defensive value at third base. There's a chance his lack of speed and propensity to hit the ball on the ground will result in him being an empty batting average without the offensive impact to play regularly at third, but Ebel doesn't turn 18 until a couple weeks after the draft and could improve significantly in the coming years. If he gets assigned to Single-A before 2026, that would be a big vote of confidence from his new organization.

Brewers' Andrew Fischer: Drafted by Brewers
The Brewers have selected Fischer with the 20th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft.
Fischer went from Duke to Ole Miss to Tennessee en route to totaling 56 homers while playing for a different school in each of his three college seasons. A lefty-hitting/righty-throwing first baseman/third baseman, Fischer will go as far as his bat takes him. He slashed .341/.497/.760 with 25 home runs, a 21.6 percent walk rate and a 14.4 percent strikeout year with the Volunteers this spring. He rarely chases (15.1 percent), and his 78.6 percent contact rate was passable. Fischer sits in a crouched stance and looks to launch homers to the pull-side. He had an .827 OPS in the Cape Cod League last summer despite an unlucky .231 average, as he was able to control the zone (9:14 K:BB) while hitting three home runs in 19 games with a wood bat. Fischer may end up sitting against lefties at the highest level, but he should hit enough to play on the strong side of a platoon.

Brewers' Easton McGee: Returns to Triple-A
McGee was optioned to Triple-A Nashville following Sunday's 8-1 win over the Nationals.
McGee will return to Triple-A after being called up July 1 and tossing three innings of one-run ball during which he allowed two hits and two walks while punching out three batters in three relief appearances. The right-hander has produced a 2.57 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with seven strikeouts over five innings in five outings with the Brewers this season, and he'll likely get another shot with the big-league club down the road this year.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
Perkins (groin/shin) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.
Perkins will remain with Nashville after finishing his minor-league rehab assignment at the Triple-A level, batting .192 with a home run, two RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases over 26 at-bats in eight games. With Sal Frelick (hamstring) leaving the Brewers' win early Sunday, it's possible that Perkins could be elevated to the major-league roster if Frelick is forced to miss any action when play resumes following the All-Star break. Drew Avans was designated for assignment Sunday, opening a spot on the 40-man roster for Perkins.

Brewers' Drew Avans: Dropped from 40-man roster
Avans was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Sunday.
Avans will now be placed on waivers after being dropped from Milwaukee's 40-man roster. If he goes unclaimed, he'll remain with Triple-A Nashville, where he's produced a .261 average with two home runs, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 23 contests this year. The transaction allowed the team to reinstate Blake Perkins (shin/groin) from the 60-day injured list, after which he was optioned to Nashville.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Undergoing imaging
Frelick (hamstring) is undergoing additional imaging, including an MRI, after Sunday's 8-1 win over the Nationals, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Frelick was removed from Sunday's contest with left hamstring discomfort in the top of the third inning after making a sliding catch in right field. After the game, manager Pat Murphy said that it "hurts his heart" to see one of his favorite players go down. The outfielder will now get the benefit of five days off for the All-Star break, and more information on his status will likely come in the near future.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Exits with hamstring injury
The Brewers announced that Frelick was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to left hamstring discomfort. He went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and an RBI prior to departing.
Frelick sustained the injury in the top of the third inning on a sliding catch of a flyball in foul territory. The Brewers will presumably send Frelick in for further testing during the All-Star break to determine the severity of his hamstring strain, but given the nature of his injury, the 25-year-old could be at risk of landing on the injured list. Frelick heads into the second half with a .294/.354/.404 slash line to go with seven home runs, 17 stolen bases, 46 runs and 39 RBI through 93 games.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Exits early with injury
Frelick was removed in the top of the third inning of Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base prior to departing.
Frelick made a sliding catch in foul territory for the first out of the third inning on a Alex Call flyball near the right-field warning track, but he was in discomfort when he tried to get up after the play. He ultimately required assistance off the field from a team trainer and was replaced in the outfield by Isaac Collins. The Brewers should have more information on the nature of Frelick's injury later Sunday, but the 25-year-old's availability for the start of Milwaukee's second-half schedule is now in question.

Since being called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Vaughn has gotten off to a red-hot start to his time with the Brewers, recording at least one hit in each of his first five games while producing a 1.500 OPS and driving in 10 runs.
