  • Phillies' Lou Trivino: Back in Philly on minor-league deal

The Phillies signed Trivino to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, per MLB's transaction log.

Trevino was DFA'd by the Orioles on Sunday and elected free agency after clearing waivers. He finished the 2025 campaign in Philadelphia and was with the organization until he signed a major-league contract with Baltimore in early May. Trivino has a 2.77 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 13 innings in Triple-A this season.

  • Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Delivers masterpiece in fifth win

Sanchez (5-2) notched the win Saturday against the Pirates, allowing no runs on six hits and no walks in nine innings. He struck out 13.

The All-Star southpaw found himself in peak form, racking up a career-high 13 strikeouts in his fourth career complete game. Saturday also marked Sanchez's second career complete-game shutout, a feat he last accomplished back in 2024, and he's now spun at least seven innings while yielding zero runs in three consecutive starts to open the month of May. He'll be looking to keep the good times rolling in his next scheduled outing against Cleveland, boasting a 1.82 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 80:14 K:BB over 64.1 frames.

  • Phillies' Orion Kerkering: Notches first save of 2026

Kerkering walked one and struck out one while giving up an unearned run in the 10th inning Friday to record his first save of the season in an 11-9 win over the Pirates.

With Jhoan Duran not yet pitching on back-to-back days and Brad Keller having worked Wednesday and Thursday, interim manager Don Mattingly has to get creative with his high-leverage arms. Jose Alvarado struck out the side in a scoreless ninth, and then after the Phillies rang up three runs in the top of the 10th, Kerkering got the call and allowed only the phantom runner to score. The right-hander hasn't seen much usage in key situations this season, and through 16.1 innings over 18 appearances he sports a 2.20 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB with just one win and one hold in addition to Friday's save.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: First to reach 20 homers

Schwarber went 3-for-5 with a walk, two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

The red-hot slugger launched two-run homers off Braxton Ashcraft in the fifth inning and Mason Montgomery in the seventh before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the ninth, fueling a Phillies rally from an early 6-0 deficit. Schwarber is the first player in the majors this season to hit 20 home runs, and he put his name in the record books alongside some very notable peers -- per Bill Ladson of MLB.com, Schwarber is the second player in Phillies history to launch nine or more long balls in an eight-game span, joining Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt, and Schwarber's the second player in history to have multiple such power surges in his career after Albert Belle. During his current eight-game heater, Schwarber's batting .353 (12-for-34) with nine homers and 15 RBI.

  • Phillies' Aaron Nola: Escapes Pittsburgh with no-decision

Nola didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Pirates, coughing up six runs on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

The veteran right-hander labored through 80 pitches (47 strikes) and served up homers to Brandon Lowe and Marcell Ozuna before getting lifted with the Phillies down 6-1, but Nola's offense was able to bail him out. It's the third time in his last five starts that Nola has been tagged for five or more runs, and he'll carry a 5.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB through 45.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Reds.

  • Phillies' Bryce Harper: Racks up season-high four hits

Harper went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Harper delivered his first four-hit attack of the season Friday, also turning in his third game with at least three knocks in the month of May. The All-Star first baseman is off to an excellent start at the dish in 2026, slashing .282/.372/.534 with 20 extra-base hits, 26 RBI and 24 walks to go with 26 runs scored and two stolen bases across 188 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Chase Shugart: Strong campaign continues

Shugart allowed one hit and no walks in two scoreless innings of relief Friday against the Pirates. He struck out one.

Since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the middle of April, Shugart has given the Phillies quality work out of the bullpen while operating mostly in middle relief. Through 15.2 innings for Philadelphia, the right-hander boasts a 1.72 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 15:3 K:BB.

  • Phillies' Trea Turner: Swipes sixth bag Friday

Turner went 1-for-6 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Turner battled an illness earlier this week, but he's back in action for the Phillies. The 32-year-old shortstop has been a big disappointment at the plate so far, batting just .231 with four home runs, seven doubles, 13 RBI and 13 walks over 182 at-bats, but he does have 27 runs scored and six stolen bases. As long as he remains in the leadoff spot for Philadelphia, Turner should continue to have plenty of run-scoring upside going forward.

Garcia has looked lost at the plate lately, going 0-for-16 with a 0:8 BB:K over his last four contests. He'll get a day to regroup Friday while Brandon Marsh covers right field in the series opener versus the Pirates.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Homers again vs. Boston

Schwarber went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox.

After both starting pitchers dominated to begin the night, Schwarber finally broke a scoreless tie in the eighth inning by taking Tyler Samaniego deep. The blast was Schwarber's MLB-leading 18th of the season, including seven in the last seven games. He continues to be one of baseball's premier power bats with a .965 OPS, and he's already compiled 1.5 WAR despite serving primarily as a designated hitter. Since 2022, the veteran slugger has hit at least 38 home runs every season, and he appears well on his way to reaching that mark again. Schwarber is slashing .226/.355/.610 with seven doubles, 30 RBI and 30 runs scored across 197 plate appearances.

The hard-throwing right-hander continues to succeed, allowing one run over his five appearances since returning from the injured list while recording multiple strikeouts in each. Duran now owns a 1.54 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 11.2 innings.

He has now logged three quality starts in his last four outings and owns a 5.07 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 61:13 K:BB across 49.1 innings.
