Ware logged 21 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), nine rebounds, three blocks and a steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 92-72 loss to the Cavaliers.
Ware was a bright spot for Miami in their loss Sunday, logging game-highs in scoring and blocks while leading his team in rebounding. Ware is the focal point for the Heat during Summer League, and Sunday was a great performance following a mediocre first game in Las Vegas, where he logged 10 points, six rebounds, one steal and a block while holding the team's lowest plus-minus at -21.

Heat's Pelle Larsson: Scores 14 in SL
Larsson posted 14 points (3-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-8 FT), three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 92-72 loss to the Cavaliers.
Larsson was able to put together a respectable offensive performance, despite logging only six shot attempts, and finished as one of three players in double figures for Miami. Larsson will likely have one final game at Summer League, as he is expected to leave to join Sweden's national team after the Heat's Summer League game Monday. He is also expected to play in EuroBasket later this offseason.

Heat's Javonte Cooke: Drops 18 points in win
Cooke racked up 18 points (7-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Friday's Summer League 105-98 loss to the Hawks.
Cooke got the job done off the bench Friday, filling up the stat sheet while contributing on both ends of the floor. He was one of five players for Miami to score in double figures, with Kasparas Jakucionis leading the way with a team-high 29 points.

Jakucionis generated 24 points (7-12 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals during Friday's 105-98 loss to Atlanta in Summer League.
Jakucionis shot 1-for-15 from the field and had a 6:12 assist-to-turnover ratio during three appearances in the California Classic. He rebounded in a big way Friday, catching fire from three-point land and turning the ball over just two times in 28 minutes. The Illinois product was the only Heat player to hit the 20-point milestone.

Ware (rest) has been cleared to play in Friday's Summer League game against the Hawks, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
After resting during the final game of the California Classic, Ware will make his return to the floor to get the Summer League underway in Las Vegas. The rising star finished with 12 points, three rebounds and one block in his last outing against the Warriors.

Gardner is dealing with a finger injury, and his next chance to play comes Sunday against the Cavaliers. After spending all of his time in the G League in 2024-25, the 24-year-old is looking to find a home in the NBA ahead of the 2025-26 season. With Gardner sidelined Friday, Pelle Larsson and Keshad Johnson are candidates to see a bump in playing time.

Jakucionis has experienced shooting woes through three Summer League appearances, shooting just 1-for-15 from the field. During that span, he has averaged 4.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals across 21.9 minutes per game. The No. 20 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Jakucionis has shot 0-for-11 from three-point range in Summer League play. He shot 31.8 percent from beyond the arc in his lone season at Illinois and will look to continue developing his perimeter game at the NBA level.

Heat's Norman Powell: Traded to Miami
The Clippers traded Powell to the Heat on Monday in a three-team deal that sent John Collins (ankle) to Los Angeles, while the Jazz received Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 second-round pick, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Powell, who is on an expiring contract worth $20.48 million, had been mentioned in the rumor mill previously, but this still comes out of nowhere. Powell was terrific during the 2024-25 regular season, appearing in 60 games with 21.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.9 three-pointers. In Miami, he figures to be a key complementary role player on the wings, giving support to Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo as a potential third option on offense.
