Pelicans' Daniel Theis: Poor season continues
Theis totaled three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one steal across 13 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.
Theis continues to be a non-factor, as he's scored in single digits in every game this season. After starting the first five games, his role has shifted to that of a backup. In 17 games he is averaging just 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game. It is clear that Theis simply isn't the player he once was.

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Lands career-high 21 points
Missi registered 23 points (11-14 FG, 1-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.
Missi recorded his third double-double in the past five games, including a career-high 21 points. Despite a brief trip to the locker room, Missi was able to return to action, also playing a career-high 35 minutes. The Pelicans are facing an uphill battle to make the playoffs, having won just four of their first 22 games. That could ensure Missi sticks in a sizeable role, even when they do get their full roster back on the court.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Drops 19 points in loss
Boston registered 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.
Boston continues to make the most of his opportunities, as he scored in double digits for the second straight game. Despite moving back to the bench, Boston has maintained a meaningful role on a team that has now lost nine straight games. If and when the Pelicans are fully healthy, Boston could very well fall out of the rotation altogether. Until that happens, he should be able to provide serviceable production on both ends of the floor.

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Checks back in
Missi (leg) returned for the start of the second quarter Monday against Atlanta, per the team's television broadcast.
Missi limped off the floor seven minutes into the first quarter, but the medical staff was quick to clear him. He's expected to play a large role the rest of the way and made an impact upon his return by adding six points on four attempts from the field.

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Heads to locker room
Missi (leg) went back to the locker room in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Hawks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Missi came up limping midway through the first quarter, and he quickly went back to the locker room. Daniel Theis would be slated to see increased minutes at center if Missi is unable to return to Monday's contest.

Pelicans' Brandon Ingram: Sidelined Monday
Ingram (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Atlanta.
Ingram will be sidelined for a fifth straight game due to a right calf injury, and he'll have two days of rest before the Pelicans' next game against the Suns on Thursday. Trey Murphy, Javonte Green and Trey Murphy will continue to see increased playing time due to Ingram's absence.

Pelicans' Herbert Jones: Remaining sidelined Monday
Jones (shoulder) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hawks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Jones will miss his 18th straight game due to a right shoulder strain, though his status did upgrade to doubtful earlier Monday, which indicates that he is progressing through his recovery. Jones' next opportunity to play will be Thursday against the Suns.

Pelicans' Brandon Ingram: Carrying questionable tag
Ingram (calf) is questionable for Monday's game against the Hawks.
Ingram last played against the Warriors on Nov. 22 and has missed five of the last six games, including four straight. However, the questionable tag suggests that he remains day-to-day. If Ingram is unable to suit up, his next chance to play comes Thursday against the Suns.

Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Out again Monday
Hawkins (back) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Hawkins will miss his third game in a row, and he's now missed 11 of the past 17 games for the Pelicans. His next chance to play is Thursday against the Suns, so he does have a few days off to get right.

Pelicans' Herbert Jones: Upgraded to doubtful
Jones (shoulder) has been upgraded to doubtful for Monday's game against the Hawks.
Jones, who has been sidelined since Oct. 29, appears to be getting closer to a return with this status upgrade. With the amount of injuries the Pelicans have been dealing with, there will be plenty of minutes available for him upon his return. If he's held out Monday as expected, his next chance to play will be Thursday against the Suns.

Pelicans' Elfrid Payton: Hands out seven assists
Payton produced six points (3-6 FG), one rebound, seven assists, two blocks and one steal across 17 minutes during Sunday's 118-85 loss to the Knicks.
Despite a limited workload, Payton made the most of his minutes and showcased his impressive playmaking ability. That workload makes him tough to trust in fantasy formats, however, and minutes won't be easy to come by when Dejounte Murray and CJ McCollum are both healthy.

Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Shooting woes continue
Murphy ended with 11 points (3-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Sunday's 118-85 loss to the Knicks.
Murphy was off the mark from the field in Sunday's blowout loss, and he's struggled to find a rhythm after missing the first 10 games of the season due to a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old sharpshooter is converting just 30.3 percent of his threes and averaging a career-worst 1.5 turnovers across eight games, but he's softening the blow a bit for fantasy managers by putting up a career-high 17.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in 31.9 minutes per contest. The injury-riddled Pelicans figure to continue to give Murphy the green light from downtown while the team is missing Brandon Ingram (calf) and Zion Williamson (hamstring), and the forward should continue to see a boost in usage while the two stars are sidelined.

Pelicans' CJ McCollum: Finishes with 13 points Sunday
McCollum amassed 13 points (6-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Sunday's 118-85 loss to New York.
McCollum more or less went down with the ship in Sunday's blowout loss to New York, seeing his minutes held to a season-low 25 after he did not play in the fourth quarter, but he did manage to come away from the rout without a turnover. The 33-year-old star guard has offered a stabilizing presence in an injury-plagued Pelicans lineup when healthy this season, averaging 20.0 points, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.9 three-pointers in 32.3 minutes per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor over eight contests. His efficiency may be up and down while New Orleans is without Brandon Ingram (calf) and Zion Williamson (hamstring), but the added usage in the stars' absences should help McCollum remain very productive in the scoring department.

Pelicans' Dejounte Murray: Mixed results in loss
Murray had 10 points (5-17 FG, 0-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals over 30 minutes during Sunday's 118-85 loss to the Knicks.
Murray is still searching for a groove in New Orleans after missing a month of action due to a fractured hand, continuing to struggle with shooting the ball, but he did contribute eight boards, five dimes and three swipes in the blowout loss. The 28-year-old star guard is averaging 14.8 points, 1.3 three-pointers and 3.5 turnovers while shooting just 30.3 percent from the field through four games overall this season, but he's also providing 6.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest to help mitigate the efficiency woes for fantasy managers. Murray will look to break out of his slump against his former club in Atlanta in Monday's matchup with the Hawks, a team that's allowing the third-most points per game (119.4) in the NBA this season.

Pelicans' Karlo Matkovic: Returns from G League
The Pelicans recalled Matkovic from the G League's Birmingham Squadrons on Saturday.
Matkovic is coming off a dominant double-double performance against the Memphis Hustle on Saturday, finishing with 29 points, 11 rebounds and six assists over 32 minutes. Across eight outings in the G League, he's averaged 18.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks over 30.3 minutes per game. Matkovic retains a spot on the Pelicans' 15-man roster, but he hasn't been a regular member of the rotation at the NBA level during his rookie season.
