Porter Gustin: Time with Miami ends
Gustin's (undisclosed) practice-squad contract with the Dolphins expired Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Gustin first joined the Dolphins in June and didn't appear in a game for the team before landing on the practice squad injured list Oct. 13. While the nature of this issue was never disclosed, the 25-year-old linebacker went on to finish the campaign on this list. Gustin tallied nine tackles while appearing in six games for Cleveland in 2021, and he'll likely seek to carve out a reserve role elsewhere heading into the 2023 season.

Porter Gustin: Moved to IR
The Dolphins placed Gustin (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured reserve list Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Gustin will not be eligible for any activations from the practice squad for at least the next four games while on IR. The fourth-year linebacker recorded nine tackles and played a career-low 130 defensive snaps over six games with Cleveland last season, and he'll look to work his way back onto an active roster when healthy again.

Dolphins' Porter Gustin: Signs with Dolphins on Wednesday
Gustin signed a contract with Miami on Wednesday.
Gustin will join the Dolphins after spending the first three seasons of his career with Cleveland, registering 52 tackles over 25 games. The 25-year-old joins Miami after the team waived fellow defensive end Daeshon Hall in a corresponding move Wednesday.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Added to active roster
Cleveland signed Gustin to a 53-man roster Tuesday.
Gustin gets the call-up after the Browns placed Takkarist McKinley (Achilles) on injured reserve. He's appeared in three games for Cleveland this season, including Monday's loss to the Raiders, when he recovered a fumble that led to the team's first score. With Jadeveon Clowney (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list and Myles Garrett dealing with a groin injury, Gustin could be part of a big line rotation Saturday against Green Bay.

Porter Gustin: Hits waiver wire
Gustin was waived by the Browns on Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
Gustin suited up in 14 games for the Browns last year and recorded 30 tackles (13 solo). The 24-year-old defensive end could find a depth role elsewhere before the season starts.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Back at practice
Gustin (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Gustin injured his knee at last Friday's practice and subsequently sat out the Browns' second preseason game. His return to practice after less than a week on the sideline indicates the issue was never too serious. Barring any setbacks, he still projects to help provide depth at defensive end for Cleveland when the season kicks off.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Sustains knee injury
Gustin injured his knee at Friday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Gustin was not on the field for pregame warm-ups Sunday after leaving Friday's practice with a knee injury. The extent of his injury is unknown. Cameron Malveaux and Joe Jackson will likely see increased workloads during the remainder of the preseason.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Activated off COVID list
Gustin was activated off the COVID-19 list Tuesday, Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Gustin spent a little under two weeks on the COVID list but has now passed all protocols to rejoin the active roster. The third-year defensive end has played in 279 defensive snaps this season and should return to a rotational role on the Browns' line for Monday's matchup with the Ravens.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Shifts to COVID list
Gustin was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
With just two days separating him from a matchup against the Jaguars, Gustin's transition to the inactive list sheds doubt on his Week 12 status. Having either tested positive for COVID-19 or coming in close contact with someone who has, Gustin will be out at least five days given this recent development. That is, of course, unless the positive COVID test is overturned by multiple subsequent negative results. Gustin logged his third start of 2020 Week 11 against the Eagles, collecting three tackles and a QB hit.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Will start at DE
Gustin will start at defensive end in Sunday's game against the Eagles, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Myles Garrett (illness) is inactive, so Gustin will make his third start of the season. He produced just two tackles over his previous two starts, so the second-year pro doesn't come close to the IDP upside of Garrett.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Fills in at edge
Gustin had 13 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery over six games in 2019.
Gustin was added to the Browns' practice squad in November and elevated to the active roster soon after. With Myles Garrett (suspension) and Olivier Vernon (knee) unavailable, playing time was available for anyone that could play the edge, so Gustin's experience at linebacker and defensive end was needed. He's under contract at a reasonable rate for one more season and could be kept around as depth in 2020.

Browns' Porter Gustin: Joins active roster
The Browns promoted Gustin to the active roster from the practice squad Friday.
Gustin has spent the last two weeks on Cleveland's practice squad. The undrafted rookie out of Southern California will now look to make the most of his opportunity on the active roster. He projects to play a depth role on the defensive line and could contribute on special teams.
