Bills' Ed Oliver: Questionable for Saturday
Oliver (biceps/knee) will practice in a limited fashion Thursday and is listed as questionable for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the Broncos, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Oliver was designated to return from the injured reserve list Tuesday and has since logged three consecutive limited practices. If the 28-year-old gets added to the Bills' active roster in time to play Saturday, it would be a significant addition to Buffalo's defense, as he's recorded 12 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in just three appearances this season. However, if Oliver cannot return for the divisional round, Deone Walker and DaQuan Jones would likely remain Buffalo's top interior defensive linemen.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Returns to practice
The Bills designated Oliver (biceps/knee) for return from injured reserve Tuesday.
Oliver now kicks off a 21-day window where he can be evaluated at practice without counting against the 53-man roster, making him eligible to return to action as early as Saturday's divisional-round game in Denver, if healthy. The veteran defensive tackle was placed on IR in late October due to a torn biceps, and he's also recovering from meniscus surgery on his knee.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Practice window set to open
Oliver (biceps/knee) is expected to resume practicing with the Bills this week, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Once the Bills officially designate Oliver for return from injured reserve, the Bills will have 21 days to evaluate him for a return to the 53-man roster. Provided that Oliver can practice in at least a limited capacity this week, he may have a chance at being activated ahead of Saturday's divisional-round game against the Broncos. The defensive tackle was initially placed on IR on Oct. 28 due to a torn biceps, and Oliver is also recovering from meniscus surgery on his knee. He finished the regular season with 12 tackles, 3.0 sacks and one forced fumble over three appearances.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Could practice next week
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that "it's not out of the question" for Oliver (biceps/knee) to resume practicing next week, should Buffalo defeat Jacksonville in Sunday's wild-card matchup to advance in the AFC playoffs, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
McDermott stressed that a number of boxes still have to be checked before Oliver returns to action, but it's possible the starting defensive tackle could return as a contributor if the Bills manage to go advance at least as far as the AFC divisional round. Oliver has been on IR since late October due to a biceps injury, and he also underwent a procedure to address a meniscus injury in his knee in late December.

Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters Monday that there are no plans for Oliver (biceps/knee) to be designated to return from injured reserve this week, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Oliver landed on injured reserve in late October due to a torn biceps that he sustained against the Panthers in Week 8. There was some optimism that the seventh-year defensive tackle could return for the playoffs. However, that was before Oliver underwent surgery in late December to repair the meniscus in his knee, and he appears to be a long shot to return for the Bills' postseason run, even if the team were to make it to the Super Bowl in February. The Bills will continue to rely on Deone Walker, Greg Rousseau, DaQuan Jones (calf) and Joey Bosa (hamstring) to man the defensive front heading into Sunday's AFC wild-card game against the Jaguars.

Coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Oliver (biceps) underwent surgery Monday to have his meniscus in his knee repaired, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
The injury occurred while Oliver was rehabbing his torn biceps. It's unclear at this point if Oliver has a chance to play again this season during the playoffs. Oliver has appeared in just three games this season due to various injuries. Deone Walker, Larry Ogunjobi, DaQuan Jones (calf) and Jordan Phillips (ankle) will continue to see heavy snaps at defensive tackle for Buffalo.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Playoff return still possible
Head coach Sean McDermott reiterated Friday that Oliver, who's on injured reserve with a biceps injury, could return to practice if Buffalo makes the playoffs, the Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports. "There's a chance. it would be more after the regular season, if we can get that far," McDermott said. "So that's kind of where his window would open up."
Oliver still has a few hurdles to clear before practicing, but his potential return would be a huge boost to Buffalo -- which has the third-worst run defense in the league -- if the Bills make the postseason for a seventh straight season. Oliver has been out since Week 8.
