  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Compiles 83 total yards in loss

Irving rushed 17 times for 77 yards and brought in both targets for six yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 wild-card loss to the Commanders on Sunday night. Irving once again comfortably outpaced backfield mate Rachaad White, who logged just three total touches (one carry, two receptions). The rookie put together a solid performance that included his seventh tally of over 70 rushing yards in the last nine games. However, Irving was stuffed for a two-yard loss on a third-and-1 play at the Commanders' 12-yard line with 5:32 remaining, forcing the Buccaneers to settle for a field goal instead of extending the drive and possibly scoring a go-ahead touchdown. Irving's productive day came in the wake of a standout rookie season that exceeded expectations, during which he recorded 207 carries for 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns while adding a 47-392 receiving line on 52 targets across 17 games. Irving also turned the ball over just once (two fumbles total) and should head into his second season with a firm grasp on the No. 1 back role.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Strong day on ground in key win

Irving rushed 19 times for 89 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of five targets for minus-5 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-19 win over the Saints on Sunday. Irving once again led the Buccaneers' ground attack on an afternoon when Rachaad White did not log a single touch. The rookie looked good on several signature explosive runs, and he scored what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard rush with just under two minutes remaining. Irving figures to continue spearheading Tampa Bay's ground attack as the postseason begins for the Bucs during Super Wild Card Weekend.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Good to go for Week 18

Irving (shoulder/shin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Saints. Irving took 24 touches for 190 yards in last week's 48-14 win over the Panthers, despite not playing at all in the fourth quarter. He should be busy again with the Bucs needing a win to reach the playoffs (unless Atlanta loses to Carolina in a game that's taking place at the same time).

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Stays limited Thursday

Irving (shoulder/shin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Irving followed up a capped walkthrough Wednesday with a similar amount of on-field work one day later. He hasn't been a stranger to injury reports in his rookie season due to a variety of health concerns, but Irving also hasn't missed a game for any reason. Friday's report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Saints.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Limited Wednesday

Irving was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to shoulder and shin injuries. Irving hasn't been a stranger to Buccaneers injury reports in his rookie season, but he's yet to miss a game. With his 113-yard effort on the ground in this past Sunday's win over the Panthers, he reached 1,000 rushing yards on the campaign. Assuming his current health concerns don't hold him back, he'll aim to build upon his 1,420 yards from scrimmage and seven rushing touchdowns in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Saints.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: RBs to Start

Irving was excellent as the Start of the Week in Week 16 at Dallas with 16 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 24 yards on three targets. He scored 18.2 PPR points, and he's now scored at least 17.7 PPR points in four of his past six games, with only one game below 13.3 PPR points over that span. He faced the Panthers in Week 13 and had 25 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 33 yards on three targets, and Carolina is No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Rachaad White is also worth using as a sleeper in this matchup, but Irving has top-10 upside in all leagues in Week 17.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Leads backfield in defeat

Irving rushed 16 times for 68 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Cowboys. Irving got the Buccaneers on the board with a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He had a substantial edge in usage and production over Rachaad White, who had just 10 touches for 61 yards and lost a fumble. While both running backs usually play prominent roles, Irving has emerged as the superior all-around backfield option for the Buccaneers. The standout rookie has 1,240 scrimmage yards and seven rushing touchdowns heading into a Week 17 home game against the Panthers.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Another limited session

Irving (back/hip) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. Irving maintained his activity level from Wednesday's session, giving him one more opportunity to get back to full participation before the Buccaneers potentially tag him with a designation for Sunday's contest at Dallas. In his last five outings in which he's earned at least a 40 percent snap share, he's averaged 19.0 touches for 124.2 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three rushing TDs.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Limited Wednesday

Irving (back/hip) was a limited practice participant Wednesday. Irving has been playing through a few health concerns for some time now, but he hasn't been inactive yet in his rookie season. He's also recorded two 100-yard efforts on the ground over the last three games, including a 17-touch, 113-yard performance in this past Sunday's win over the Chargers. In the end, Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not Irving enters Sunday's contest in Dallas with a designation.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Valiant effort Sunday

Irving (back/hip) rushed 15 times for 117 yards while losing two yards on a pair of receptions in Sunday's 40-17 win over the Chargers. Irving was truly a game-time decision after suffering injuries to his back and hip in last week's win over the Raiders. The explosive rookie was seen stretching his affected areas on the field leading up to Sunday's kickoff, but he looked crisp in action once play commenced. It was Irving's second 100-yard performance over his last three games, bringing the rookie up to 852 rushing yards on the year. Co-starter Rachaad White also saw 15 carries -- albeit with far less efficiency -- and brought in one of Baker Mayfield's four touchdown passes. Now healthy, Irving has a shot at increasing his national presence in a plus matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 16.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Likely to play Sunday

Irving (back/hip), who is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, is expected to suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Irving played a season-low 10 offensive snaps last Sunday in a win over Las Vegas, and head coach Todd Bowles explained after the contest that the rookie's back tightened up during the victory. The Oregon product didn't practice at all Wednesday or Thursday this week, but he logged a limited session Friday, and that looks like it may be enough for him to take the field against Los Angeles. If Irving is in fact cleared when the Buccaneers release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, he'll likely serve as the lead option on the ground as part of a backfield timeshare with Rachaad White, who should see plenty of involvement in a change-of-pace capacity.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Questionable after limited practice

Irving (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers after returning to practice Friday as a limited participant. The designation was expected after coach Todd Bowles said earlier Friday that Irving will go through a pregame workout before the Buccaneers decide on his active status. That's not ideal for fantasy managers, especially ahead of a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but there are at least more late-afternoon and primetime games than usual this week, which expands the pool of replacement options if Irving is deemed inactive. Rachaad White will lead Tampa Bay's backfield if Irving doesn't play, with Sean Tucker getting some touches off the bench.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Potential game-time decision

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles suggested Friday that Irving (back/hip) may be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Bowles said the team wants to put Irving through a pregame workout before making a decision on his active status. A questionable designation on the final injury report now seems likely, with fantasy managers potentially headed for a tricky situation ahead of a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Sits out Wednesday

Irving (back/hip) missed Wednesday's walk-through practice, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Irving exited late in the first half of this past Sunday's win against the Raiders due to a back injury, which head coach Todd Bowles clarified as tightness one day later, per Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site. Irving will have two more chances to prove his health before the team potentially makes a ruling on his status for Sunday's contest at the Chargers. Rachaad White would stand to benefit if Irving is available in only a limited capacity or inactive this weekend, while Sean Tucker would bump up a spot in the backfield pecking order for Tampa Bay.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Injures back Sunday

Irving suffered a back injury during Sunday's game against the Raiders. Irving tended to hip and back issues during Week 14 prep, and the latter seemingly has been aggravated, per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. If he's unable to return, Irving will finish Sunday's contest with four carries for three yards and one catch (on one target) for 15 yards. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker are the healthy RBs on the Buccaneers' active roster.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Questionable for Week 14

Irving (hip) was a limited practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. A return to practice at the end of the week improves Irving's chances of playing, but the Buccaneers aren't ready to commit to it two days before the game. A 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff is good news for Irving's fantasy managers, leaving plenty of replacement options if he's declared inactive or reports suggest his role will be scaled back. Any lost work for Irving figures to go to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker, with the former in particular making for a strong fantasy start in the event Irving is inactive.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Returns to practice

Irving (hip) is practicing Friday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Reporters saw Irving at Thursday's practice, but he ultimately was listed as a non-participant for the second straight day. It sounds like he's doing more Friday and has a chance to play this Sunday against Las Vegas.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Officially DNP on Thursday

Irving (hip/back) officially was a non-participant at Thursday's practice. Despite a report earlier Thursday from Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times that Irving was taking part in practice, the rookie fourth-round pick went down as a DNP for a second day in a row due to hip and back issues. Irving will have another chance Friday to mix into drills, and his listing on the Buccaneers' final Week 14 injury report may shed light into his odds to suit up Sunday versus the Raiders. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker are the healthy running backs on Tampa Bay's active roster.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Back at practice Thursday

Irving (hip/back) was seen participating in the portion of Thursday's practice that was open to the media, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Irving sat out Wednesday's session due to a pair of injuries, but he looks poised to handle at least limited participation in Thursday's practice. The Buccaneers will release their second Week 14 injury report later Thursday, when the extent of Irving's activity will become known. In any case, Irving's ability to resume practicing in some fashion bodes well for his chances of being available Sunday versus the Raiders.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: RBs to Start

I made the wrong choice of Tampa Bay players as Start of the Week in Week 13 when I was deciding between Irving and Baker Mayfield, and Irving had a breakout performance at Carolina with 25 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 33 yards on three targets for 27.5 PPR points. He now has at least at least 15.4 PPR points in six of his past seven games, including three in a row, and he should stay hot against the Raiders in Week 14. Nine running backs have scored at least 15.5 PPR points against Las Vegas this season, and hopefully, Irving is fine with the hip injury he dealt with against the Panthers. If healthy, Irving has top-five upside in all leagues.
