Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Commits three turnovers in loss
Huntley completed 25 of 41 pass attempts for 227 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while rushing thrice for 16 yards with one fumble lost in Sunday's 32-20 loss to the Jets.
Huntley failed to repeat last week's heroic spot-start (277 total yards with two TDs) that helped keep Miami's bleak playoff hopes alive. The veteran backup was actually charged with four fumbles (with only one costing his team possession) to finish with three combined turnovers to just one touchdown thrown. Huntley will finish the 2024 campaign with 829 passing yards on a 65 percent completion rate while tossing three scores to three picks. The 26-year-old will likely earn himself another backup gig in 2025 after reliable results on a one-year deal with the Dolphins.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Set to start Sunday
With Tua Tagovailoa (hip) inactive, Huntley is slated to start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets.
While filling in for Tagovailoa in Miami's 20-3 win over the Browns in Week 17, Huntley completed 22 of his 26 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown in addition to rushing seven times for 52 yards and another score. With Tagovailoa sidelined once again, Huntley will continue to helm the offense of the 8-8 Dolphins, who need a win (combined with a Denver loss) in order to qualify for a playoff spot. With that in mind, Huntley offers a lineup option for fantasy managers dealing with QB injuries or signal-callers resting in Week 18.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Still on track to start Sunday
Head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Miami is preparing for Huntley to start at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Jets, with Tua Tagovailoa (hip) not expected to be available for the regular-season finale, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
As a replacement for Tagovailoa in Week 17, Huntley completed 22 of his 26 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown while rushing seven times for 52 yards and another score in Miami's 20-3 win over the Browns. The 8-8 Dolphins need a win plus a Broncos loss to the Chiefs on Sunday in order to secure a spot in the playoffs. If the Dolphins earn a postseason berth, it's unclear if Tagovailoa would be ready to play in the wild-card round.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Trending toward another start
Head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that the Dolphins are preparing as though Huntley will start Sunday against the Jets rather than Tua Tagovailoa (hip), Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Wolfe notes that Tagovailoa is slated to be a limited participant in practice Wednesday, and a decision on Miami's starting quarterback for Sunday likely won't be made until the end of the week. That said, Huntley looks to be trending toward another start, on the heels of helming the Dolphins' 20-3 win over the Browns this past weekend. He turned in perhaps the finest performance of his five-year career in Week 17, completing 22 of 26 pass attempts for 225 yards, one touchdown and no interception while adding 52 yards and another score on seven carries.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Will get most practice reps Week 18
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Huntley will get more practice reps than Tua Tagovailoa (hip) this week, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Though Tagovailoa hasn't been ruled out for Week 18, McDaniel said the team is in a "gray area" regarding the star quarterback due to his hip injury, per Jackson. With Huntley slated to get most of the reps in practice this week, it appears he has a better chance than Tagovailoa of starting against the Jets on Sunday in a game the Dolphins must win in order to have any chance of making the postseason. Huntley led the team to a victory Sunday versus the Browns, performing well with 225 passing yards and a touchdown while completing 22 of 26 attempts and adding 52 yards and another score on the ground.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Performs well in spot-start
Huntley completed 22 of 26 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 52 yards and another score on seven carries in Sunday's 20-3 victory over the Browns.
Huntley got the nod under center in place of Tua Tagovailoa (hip) and provided DFS players and deep-league managers with a strong fantasy total in Week 17. The long-time Baltimore backup stepped up to the occasion at a crucial point of the season for the Dolphins in order to keep the team's playoff hopes alive. Tagovailoa's status for Week 18 is still uncertain, but the team will obviously start its top option should he be available for next Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Starting in place of Tagovailoa
With Tua Tagovailoa (hip) inactive, Huntley is slated to start Sunday's game against the Browns, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
As a result of Tagovailoa (who had been listed as doubtful) being unable to helm Miami's offense Sunday, Huntley will be making his fourth start of the season. In that fill-in role, Huntley offers a lineup option for fantasy managers in Superflex formats or who are otherwise in need of Week 17 QB help. However, given the rate of production that he put up while previously subbing for Tagovailoa (377 passing yards with a TD and an interception/16 carries for 67 yards and a rushing score in three games), expectations should be tempered for Huntley, as well as Miami's Week 17 pass catchers, a group led by WR Tyreek Hill and TE Jonnu Smith.

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Could start, with Tua doubtful
Huntley is expected to start Sunday's game against the Browns after the Dolphins downgraded Tua Tagovailoa (hip) from questionable to doubtful, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports.
Unless Tagovailoa shows dramatic improvement leading up to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, he looks as though he'll be sidelined for the first time since Week 7. In such a scenario, Huntley would be in line for his fourth start of the season, with Skylar Thompson serving as his backup. While Huntley thus represents a possible lineup option for fantasy managers who are still playing in Week 17, his presence under center would amount to a downgrade to all of Miami's pass catchers. In his previous three starts, Huntley accounted for 67 rushing yards and a score on the ground but struggled as a passer, throwing one touchdown against one interception while completing 59.1 percent of his throws for 5.7 yards per attempt.
