Jets' Brady Cook: Struggles in relief
Cook completed 14 of 30 passes for 163 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions after replacing the injured Tyrod Taylor (groin) in the first half of Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Dolphins. Cook also rushed once for no gain.
Cook dressed as the backup in the absence of Justin Fields (knee), and the undrafted rookie out of Missouri was pressed into action after Taylor got hurt. The Jets' only touchdown came on a punt return as Cook led one field-goal drive and turned it over twice. Cook would likely make his first NFL start in Week 15 at Jacksonville if neither Taylor nor Fields gets clearance to play.

Brady Cook: Back with practice squad
Cook reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Cook was elevated to operate as the team's backup behind Justin Fields in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals. The quarterback didn't enter the game, but he could be asked to join the active roster again in Week 10 if Tyrod Taylor (knee) remains sidelined after New York's Week 9 bye.

Jets' Brady Cook: Set to back up Taylor
The Jets elevated Cook from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.

Brady Cook: Remains on practice squad
Cook signed with the Jets' practice squad Wednesday.
Cook joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in April after throwing for 2,535 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions in addition to rushing 87 times for 223 yards and five touchdowns during his final season at Missouri. The 23-year-old quarterback completed 25 of 38 passes for 235 yards (6.2 YPA), a touchdown and an interception during the preseason. The Jets are sticking with just two quarterbacks -- Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor (knee) -- to begin the year.

Brady Cook: Cut loose by New York
Cook was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Cook played in all three of the team's preseason games, completing 25 of 38 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, while he also threw an interception. The quarterback signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in April, and if he goes unclaimed on waivers, there's a good chance he sticks around New York as a member of the practice squad.

Jets' Brady Cook: Tosses TD in preseason loss
Cook completed six of 11 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 31-12 preseason loss to the Giants.
Cook didn't get into the game until the final 20 minutes, but it was still a memorable night for the rookie out of Missouri, whose four-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Skinner in the fourth quarter was Cook's first touchdown pass in the NFL. Tyrod Taylor (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the preseason, so either Cook or Adrian Martinez could begin the regular season as Justin Fields' backup if Taylor isn't ready to return by then. The competition between Cook and Martinez could come down to how they perform in Friday's preseason finale against the Eagles.

Jets' Brady Cook: Second QB into Saturday's game
Cook completed six of eight passes for 62 yards and rushed once for minus-five yards in Saturday's 30-10 preseason win over the Packers.
With Tyrod Taylor (knee) sitting out, Cook was the second quarterback into the game for the Jets after starter Justin Fields played the opening drive. Cook played the remainder of the first half before being replaced by Adrian Martinez, who threw for 152 yards and a touchdown in the second half. The competition for the third spot on the quarterback depth chart between Cook -- who signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri in April -- and the 2024 UFL MVP Martinez will continue in the team's next preseason game, Aug. 16 against the Giants.
