Guenther (undisclosed) will miss the upcoming 2025 IIHF World Championship, Utah Hockey Club Insider Craig Morgan reports.
Guenther was on track to becoming an important piece of Team USA alongside Utah teammate Logan Cooley. Instead, an injury will force him to miss the World Championship in Sweden this coming May. The good news is signs point to this injury not being long-term, so concern level for his future moving forward should be low. The 22-year-old Guenther scored 27 goals and added 33 assists this past season, both career-best marks.

Hockey Club's Dylan Guenther: Produces two power-play assists
Guenther recorded two power-play assists and three shots on goal in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Stars.
Guenther helped out on tallies by Barrett Hayton and Nick Schmaltz. April continues to go well for Guenther, who has a goal and seven assists over six games this month despite playing through a broken nose sustained April 1 versus the Flames. Guenther scored a goal on six shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Predators.
Guenther snapped a seven-game goal drought, which was one game shy of matching his longest scoring slump of the year. He still had six assists in that stretch -- the 22-year-old is a talented goal-scorer, but he can set up teammates as well. Guenther is playing with a broken nose, but he's racked up four assists over three games since the injury occurred. Guenther suffered a broken nose Tuesday versus Calgary but will be in the lineup Thursday versus Los Angeles, Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Guenther also said that he had nine stitches and will wear a bubble cage for the first time in his career to protect his nose. The talented forward has 26 goals and 26 assists, including 12 markers and 12 helpers on the power play, over 63 games this season.

The 21-year-old winger has come up huge for Utah since returning from a 12-game absence due to a lower-body injury. In two games since rejoining the lineup, Guenther has scored three goals, with two of them being overtime winners. Thursday's tally also gave him a new career high with 19 goals on the season. An ability to stay healthy is the only thing standing between Guenther and a true breakout -- across 42 appearances, he's piled up 38 points, including a career-high 16 points (seven goals, nine helpers) with the man advantage.

Hockey Club's Dylan Guenther: Plays hero in return
Guenther netted two goals, including the game winner, added an assist and took six shots on target in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Flyers.
With less than one second left in the extra period, Guenther sniped a shot past Samuel Ersson to give Utah the win. His return to the lineup was a large help for the Hockey Club offensively after he missed the previous 12 games with a lower-body injury. The 21-year-old forward is up to 18 goals, 19 assists and 104 shots on net in 41 games this season. Tuesday's performance tied his career-high for points in one game with three. Guenther's 37 points this season are a new career high and he set it in four fewer games than his previous best of 35. With one of the quickest releases for a shot, he is a goalscoring threat from anywhere in the offensive zone. He is a must-start in all fantasy formats.
