Vilardi (upper body) will not play in St. Louis for Game 3 on Thursday, Murat Ates of The Athletic reports.
Vilardi traveled with the Jets to St. Louis ahead of Thursday's game and participated in the morning skate, albeit in a non-contact jersey. Vilardi will miss his 14th straight game and is doubtful for Game 4 on Sunday at this time. Vilardi ended the regular season with 27 goals and 61 points in 71 games, all career highs. Alex Iafallo will continue to play on the top line with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele in Vilardi's absence.

Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Making trip Thursday
Vilardi (upper body) will travel with the Jets for Thursday's Game 3 matchup in St. Louis, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Vilardi has been out of action since March 23 versus the Sabres, a stretch of 13 games on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. In his 71 regular-season appearances this year, the 25-year-old natural center posted career highs in goals (27), assists (34) and power-play points (25). If given the all-clear for Game 3, Vilardi will likely be on both the first line as well as the No. 1 power-play unit.

Vilardi (upper body) is still day-to-day ahead of Thursday's Game 3 matchup versus the Blues, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press on Tuesday.

Vilardi scored what would end up being the game-winning goal with a wrister in the early stages of the second period following set-ups from Cole Perfetti and Kyle Connor. Vilardi is having a career-best season in 2024-25, notching personal bests in several categories such as goals (27), assists (33) and points (60). Vilardi gave the Jets a 2-1 lead in the second period and added a game-tying tally with 28 seconds left in the third. The Jets went on to win in the shootout after Vilardi helped them get through regulation time. It's the 25-year-old's third two-goal effort over his last seven contests, a span in which he has six tallies and four assists. He's up to 26 goals, 53 points, 108 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating across 57 appearances. He should hit the 30-goal mark this season, and he could challenge for 40 if he's hot and healthy to close out the campaign.

Winnipeg's top line was prominent for a second straight contest. After accounting for four goals in Sunday's win over Calgary, the trio of Vilardi, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor potted three against Montreal. Vilardi, who had two goals and two assists against Calgary, now has points in four straight, posting three goals and five assists during the streak. He's already established career highs in points (49) and assists (27) and is on his way to a new benchmark for goals. He has 22 markers through 52 games, one off from the 23 he scored over 63 games in 2022 while with the Kings.

Vilardi earned one goal and one assist on the power play, which came in the third period as the Jets built up their lead. This was the 25-year-old's first four-point effort since Dec. 13, 2023.
