Broberg netted the game-winning goal in overtime, tallied three shots on net and blocked three shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks.
With just over a minute remaining in Thursday's extra period, Broberg tallied his second game-winning goal of the season. Overall, the 23-year-old defenseman is up to seven goals, 22 points, 87 shots on net and 75 blocks in 57 appearances this season. Thursday's game-winner ended a nine-game drought without a goal for Broberg, who now has four markers since early February. He also received a team-high 24:57 of ice time, which highlights the level of trust head coach Jim Montgomery has in his blueliner. While Broberg has a small amount of value in deeper leagues, he has a bright future ahead and has settled in nicely on the Blues' second defensive pairing. If he can get hot down the stretch, however, he is worth a look in some formats with his ice time at even strength and on the second power-play unit.

Broberg, who hasn't played since Nov. 2, was originally projected to miss 4-6 weeks. It's not clear how much his timetable has changed, but perhaps he'll be in the lineup before the end of November. He has two goals and nine points in 12 outings in 2024-25. The Blues will certainly be grateful for the good news on the injury front given the challenges they've endured on the blue line. Given Broberg's recovery timeline, he should be a strong candidate for injured reserve and could even be designated for long-term injured reserve if the Blues need the cap space. Prior to getting hurt, the 23-year-old Swede was off to an incredible start to the 2024-25 campaign with nine points in 12 games -- already having topped his career-best eight points recorded with the Oilers over 46 contests back in 2022-23. In Broberg's stead, Pierre-Olivier Joseph and Scott Perunovich should both see an uptick in playing time.
