Red Wings' Carter Bear: Trio of assists in overtime win
Bear registered three assists in WHL Everett's 4-3 overtime win over Kamloops on Saturday.
Bear is maintaining a point-per-game pace now in the WHL after his second three-point effort in the last three contests. He has four goals and seven helpers through 11 appearances for the Silvertips. The Red Wings prospect shone brighter in a 40-goal, 82-point effort over 56 regular-season games last year, so his recent uptick in productivity is likely to stick.

Red Wings' Trey Augustine: Shuts out Penn State
Augustine posted a 36-save shutout in Michigan State University's 5-0 win over Penn State on Saturday.
Augustine has made seven starts this season, going 6-1-0 with three shutouts. This was arguably his best performance of the year, as this was a showdown between two of the top-ranked teams in the country. Augustine has continued to show progress in his junior year of college, improving on his impressive 2.08 GAA and .924 save percentage from 30 games a year ago.

Red Wings' John Gibson: In goal for Sunday
Gibson will patrol the home crease versus Chicago on Sunday, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.
Gibson has lost his last two starts, but he couldn't be blamed in his previous game, allowing only one goal on 34 shots in a 1-0 loss in Vegas. Overall, Gibson is 4-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and an .890 save percentage over eight starts this season. The Blackhawks are 14th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.20 goals per game, a vast improvement over 2023-24 when they were 26th in the league, scoring at a 2.73 goals-per-game pace.

Red Wings' J.T. Compher: Nets lone goal vs. New York
Compher scored a goal on five shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
Compher snapped a five-game run without a point by burying a wrister past Jonathan Quick at the 11:06 mark of the first frame. Compher has three goals and six points this season. That lack of production, coupled with his bottom-six role in the lineup, limits his fantasy upside considerably in most formats.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Allows four goals Friday
Talbot stopped 22 of 26 shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
Talbot's brief two-game winning streak came to an end. He has been sharing the crease with John Gibson this season, and if that trend continues, Gibson could start Sunday's home game against the Blackhawks. Talbot is 5-2-0 with a 2.92 GAA and an .891 save percentage in eight outings this season.

Red Wings' Dylan James: Two goals in Friday's win
James scored twice in the University of North Dakota's 7-2 win over the University of Nebraska-Omaha on Friday.
James is up to five goals and two assists over nine contests for North Dakota this year. He was one of three players to post multiple goals for UND in this win. James, a senior, is producing at a decent pace, but it's unclear if it will lead to him signing an entry-level deal with the Red Wings at the end of the season.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Facing Rangers
Talbot will patrol the home crease versus the Rangers on Friday, per Max Bultman of The Athletic.
Talbot is 5-1-0 with a 2.76 GAA and an .897 save percentage over seven appearances this season. He has been perfect at home, posting a 2-0-0 record, allowing four goals on 48 shots. He has outplayed fellow veteran John Gibson in the early going. The Rangers are last in NHL scoring, generating only 2.21 goals per game.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Poised to return Friday
Kane (upper body) is expected back in the lineup against the Rangers on Friday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Kane is set to return from a nine-game absence due to his upper-body issue. With the veteran winger back in the lineup, he figures to step into a top-six role in addition to joining one of the two power-play groups. Prior to his absence, Kane was rolling offensively with two goals and three assists in his opening five games this year.

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Returns to practice Thursday
Kane (upper body) participated in Thursday's practice session, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Kane has been sidelined since mid-October due to his upper-body injury, and Thursday marked the first time that he joined the Red Wings for practice since the start of his absence. It's not yet clear whether he'll be in the mix to return for Friday's game against the Rangers, but he at least appears to be progressing in his recovery.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets no support in loss
Gibson stopped 33 of 34 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Golden Knights.
Gibson put in a good performance, but the Red Wings were unable to get a puck past Akira Schmid in the other crease. This was arguably one of Gibson's best performances of the season despite the unfortunate result. He's now 4-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and an .890 save percentage across eight starts. The Red Wings have alternated goalies over the last week, so it wouldn't be surprising to see that trend continue. If it holds, Cam Talbot would face the Rangers on Friday, and Gibson's next start would come against the Blackhawks on Sunday for the first two games of Detroit's upcoming homestand.

Red Wings' John Gibson: In goal against Knights
Gibson will get the starting nod on the road versus Vegas on Tuesday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Gibson will make his eighth appearance of the season, having gone 4-3-0 with a 3.32 GAA in his prior seven outings. Thus far, Gibson and Cam Talbot have split the starts pretty evenly, with the 32-year-old Gibson holding the slight edge with seven appearances in 13 games. The split share will likely continue all season, with the hot hand getting the start.

Red Wings' Austin Watson: Sent back to minors
Watson was assigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Monday.
Watson was brought up from the minors Thursday, but he didn't draw into a game with the big club. The 33-year-old's demotion might be an indication that Patrick Kane (upper body) is nearing a return to the lineup. Watson has two goals, 20 PIM and a plus-1 rating across four appearances with the Griffins this season.

Red Wings' John Leonard: Two goals in Griffins' win
Leonard scored twice on seven shots in AHL Grand Rapids' 6-2 win over Rockford on Sunday.
Leonard leads the AHL with nine goals in just seven games, and he's added two assists. The 27-year-old probably can't keep shooting 42.9 percent, but he was at 14.3 percent in a 36-goal, 61-point regular season for AHL Charlotte in the 2024-25 regular season. Leonard's strong play to begin the minor-league campaign gives the Red Wings a quality veteran option for a call-up if they get thinned out by injuries later in the season.

Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Pots goal in shootout win
Seider scored a goal on four shots, added four PIM, doled out four hits and blocked two shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks.
Seider is on a four-game point streak (one goal, three assists). The 24-year-old defenseman started the year quiet on offense, but he's picking up the pace while maintaining his usual elite levels of non-scoring production. Overall, he's at six points, 30 shots on net, 29 hits, 20 blocks, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 13 appearances.

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Opens scoring Sunday
Raymond scored a goal on four shots and blocked three shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks.
Raymond continues to enjoy the road -- he has two goals and four assists during a four-game point streak that coincides with the Red Wings' current trip out west. The 23-year-old winger opened the scoring late in the second period Sunday. He's up to four goals, 12 points, 19 shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 11 appearances. Raymond's offense should remain fairly steady in a top-six role for a strong offense.
