Red Wings' J.T. Compher: Activated from IR
Compher (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Following a five-game absence, Compher will return to the lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday. He has accounted for six goals, 21 points, 63 shots on net and 37 blocked shots across 48 appearances this season. Based on Friday's practice, Compher will occupy a fourth-line role and see time on the second power-play combination.

Lyon will be between the home pipes versus Tampa Bay on Saturday, per Daniella Bruce of the Red Wings' official site.
Lyon has been great of late, going 5-1-1 in 10 appearances since the Christmas break. allowing 16 goals on 218 shots (.927 save percentage). Lyon is 10-6-1 with a 2.58 GAA and a .908 save percentage across 21 games this season. Lyon has a tough matchup as the Lightning are scoring 3.49 goals per game, third in the NHL this season.

Red Wings' J.T. Compher: Set to return against Bolts
Compher (upper body) looks poised to return to the lineup versus the Lightning on Saturday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
According to head coach Todd McLellan, he is still awaiting final medical clearance for Compher but is expecting the winger to be available Saturday. Assume he does return, the 29-year-old Compher figures to slot into a middle-six role and will undoubtedly be eager to end his seven-game goal drought during which he managed just one helper and 11 shots.

Shine was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
Shine has an assist over four outings with Detroit this season. The 31-year-old has also appeared in 40 games with Grand Rapids in 2024-25, providing 11 goals and 32 points.

Red Wings' William Lagesson: No path to playing time
Lagesson has been scratched for 17 straight games since his Jan. 2 call-up.
Lagesson sat out again for Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Kraken. The 28-year-old is serving as the Red Wings' extra defensemen in the absence of Jeff Petry (undisclosed), who is not expected to be back until April at the earliest. Unless the Red Wings are buyers at the trade deadline, Lagesson can be expected to be a regular in the press box until an injury situation necessitates his presence in the lineup.

Larkin remains consistent in a top-line role -- he hasn't gone more than one game without a point since head coach Todd McLellan took over for Derek Lalonde coming out of the holiday break. Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Holds on for shootout win
Talbot stopped 23 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Kraken.
Talbot had given up a total of five goals across his previous four games. The Kraken were able to force overtime with a multi-goal comeback in the third period, but Patrick Kane tallied in the shootout to give the Red Wings their seventh straight win. Talbot's been in net for five of them, improving his season record to 16-10-2. The 37-year-old has added a 2.83 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 30 appearances. The Red Wings play once more before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, and that game is Saturday at home versus the Lightning.
