Devils' Brian Halonen: Recalled by New Jersey
Halonen was recalled from AHL Utica on Thursday.
Halonen made his NHL debut with the Devils last year by appearing in two games and logging two shots on goal and two hits while averaging 8:17 of ice time. He'll rejoin New Jersey for the first time this season since Stefan Noesen (illness) and Erik Haula (ankle) will be unavailable for Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs. However, it seems unlikely that Halonen will play a significant role for the Devils if he enters the lineup.

Devils' Kurtis MacDermid: Still in part-time role
MacDermid logged a season-high four hits in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers.
MacDermid has a short-term path to playing time while Stefan Noesen (illness) and Erik Haula (ankle) are out. Even if he continues to suit up, MacDermid will have extremely limited minutes on the fourth line -- his 6:36 of ice time Tuesday was his fourth-highest total of the season. He doesn't have a point this season while adding five shots on net, 29 hits and 19 PIM across 17 appearances.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Ends slump with assist
Bastian logged an assist and two hits in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers.
The helper was Bastian's first point in 16 games since he returned from a broken jaw. The 27-year-old winger has occupied a fourth-line spot during that stretch and has been a regular in the lineup despite the lack of offense. He's at six points, 24 shots on net, 27 PIM and 58 hits through 28 appearances this season.

Devils' Timo Meier: Produces assist Tuesday
Meier logged an assist, two shots on goal, four hits and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers.
Meier has a goal and two assists over his last seven outings. He had seven points over a five-game span right before the holiday break, so the winger has cooled off a bit. Overall, he's at 14 goals, 16 helpers, 133 shots on net, 78 hits, 50 PIM, 34 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating through 45 appearances. Meier's all-around production is excellent for fantasy, and his 10.5 shooting percentage could still tick up a couple of notches if he gets back on track in the second half.

Devils' Stefan Noesen: Unavailable for Thursday
Noesen (illness) won't join the Devils on the road, which rules him out for Thursday's tilt in Toronto, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
After that game, the Devils will return home to host Philadelphia on Saturday. Noesen has 17 goals, 28 points, 21 PIM and 94 hits in 45 outings in 2024-25. Kurtis MacDermid might make a second straight appearance Thursday because of Noesen's absence.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Scores goal vs. Florida
Hischier scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers.
Hischier has cracked the scoresheet in three of his last five appearances, but the 26-year-old hasn't exactly set the world on fire with his numbers in recent weeks. He remains productive, however, and his excellent start to the season -- he notched 15 points in his first 13 games -- means he's recorded 37 points over 46 regular-season appearances thus far.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Stops 27 shots Tuesday
Markstrom stopped 27 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers.
Markstrom played at an elite level in December, going 8-1-1 with a 1.30 GAA and a .937 save percentage across 10 appearances, but his numbers have regressed a bit in recent weeks. He's gone 2-1-2 with a 2.13 GAA and a .917 save percentage in five January appearances. That said, even with the regression, Markstrom remains an excellent fantasy alternative across all formats. The Devils are playing three games over the next five days, though, so it wouldn't be surprising if Markstrom gets some much-needed rest in the coming days after starting five games in a row.

Devils' Stefan Noesen: Unavailable Tuesday
Noesen (illness) won't play versus the Panthers on Tuesday.
Noesen is set to miss his first game of the season. The 31-year-old has been massive in a middle-six role this season, earning 17 goals and 11 assists over 45 contests, with 11 of his 28 points coming on the power play. Tomas Tatar and Paul Cotter are likely to pick up extra minutes, while Kurtis MacDermid figures to be in the lineup to cover for Noesen's absence.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: In goal Tuesday
Markstrom will protect the home net versus Florida on Tuesday, according to Doug Plagens of the Panthers Radio Network.
Markstrom is coming off a 23-save performance in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory over Tampa Bay. He has a 21-8-3 record with three shutouts, 2.19 GAA and a .911 save percentage across 32 appearances this season. Florida ranks ninth in the league with 3.25 goals per game in 2024-25 and lost 4-3 to Philadelphia on Monday.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: No points since return
Bastian has not gotten on the scoresheet over 15 games since he returned from a broken jaw that cost him 16 contests.
Bastian's overall drought is at 16 games, a span in which he has 39 hits, 13 shots on net and 23 PIM. The 27-year-old is a physical fourth-line winger, so a lack of offense isn't out of the ordinary. He has five points, 56 hits, 27 PIM, 24 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 27 outings overall. Without better scoring numbers, Bastian won't be much of an impact player in fantasy.

Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Deals helper in overtime win
Hamilton produced an assist, two shots on goal, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Lightning.
Hamilton is still listed as a top-four defenseman, but he has been under 20 minutes of ice time in 12 of the Devils' last 14 games. On most teams, that would be worrisome, but he has seven assists and a plus-5 rating in that span, and New Jersey's blue line is fairly deep even if it's not overflowing with high-scoring blueliners. Hamilton now has 28 points, 134 shots on net, 56 blocked shots, 49 hits and a plus-4 rating through 45 appearances. While the drop in ice time is discouraging, fantasy managers need not worry as long as he remains on the top power-play unit and continues to contribute fairly well across the board.

Devils' Ondrej Palat: Reaches 10-goal mark
Palat scored a goal on four shots and added three hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Lightning.
Palat's tally opened the scoring at 8:10 of the first period. The 33-year-old winger has been playing at a strong level over the last month, earning seven goals and four assists across 15 contests dating back to Dec. 10. Palat has 10 goals, 19 points, 60 shots on net, 75 hits, 33 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 44 appearances this season.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Brilliant performance in win
Markstrom made 23 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Lightning on Saturday.
Markstrom was sharp -- he made a highlight-reel save on Brayden Point in the third period when he stretched out in desperation with his left arm to make the stop. It preserved the Devils' lead at the time. Markstrom sits fourth in the NHL with a 2.19 GAA and top-13 in save percentage (.911). He's tied with Jake Oettinger for second in wins (21). As expected, Markstrom has been superb in his first campaign with New Jersey.

Devils' Stefan Noesen: Net-front presence keeps scoring
Noesen scored the game-winning goal on the power play Saturday in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Lightning.
It was his 17th goal of the season, but his first in eight games. Noesen hasn't been able to sustain his red-hot scoring from the start of 2024-25, but each goal he scores pushes his career mark higher. He's still on pace to hit the 30-goal mark this season. Remarkably, Noesen's tally in Saturday's win was his first regular-season overtime goal. Most fantasy managers will benefit from a gritty winger who takes the punishment in front of the net on the power play to contribute offensively.

Devils' Jack Hughes: Four-game, six-point streak
Hughes had a goal and added an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Hughes is on a four-game, six-point streak (two goals, four assists). He has 35 helpers, 52 points and 168 shots in 45 games, putting him on a 95-point and 306-shot pace. Those totals might not set career marks, but Hughes is cementing his status as one of the NHL's top scorers. However, he still must improve his 38.0 faceoff percentage.

Devils' Jesper Bratt: Top-10 NHL scorer
Bratt delivered two assists in a 3-2 overtime win over Tampa Bay on Saturday. One came on the power play.
Bratt has three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two outings and 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) in 45 games. He sits 10th in league scoring. He's also on pace for a career-high 93 points, including 36 on the power play. Bratt is neck-and-neck with Jack Hughes for the Devils' scoring lead. Hughes has 52 points. Bratt probably won't get consideration for individual hardware this year, but his value to the Devils is priceless.
