  • Kraken's Ryker Evans: Dealing with injury

Evans (hand) will not be in the lineup Tuesday on the road against the Hurricanes, Piper Shaw of Kraken Hockey Network reports.

Evans will miss his first game of the season. The left-shot blueliner was injured blocking a shot in Saturday's loss to San Jose, and he was unable to be a full participant at Monday's practice. Josh Mahura will draw back into the lineup Tuesday in Evans' stead.

  • Kraken's Ryker Evans: Dealing with injury

Evans wasn't a full participant in Monday's practice session due to an apparent hand injury, 99.3 KJR reports.

Evans appeared to sustain a right hand injury on a blocked shot during Saturday's loss to San Jose, and even though he played through the issue down the stretch, he's dealing with lingering effects Monday. Head coach Dan Bylsma said Monday that he's concerned about Evans' injury, so the defenseman's status for Tuesday's game in Carolina appears to be up in the air.

  • Kraken's Josh Mahura: Exits lineup with D at full health

Mahura was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Unless head coach Dan Bylsma has a message to send, it's likely Mahura will be on the outside looking in for a while. Vince Dunn (upper body) returned from long-term injured reserve Saturday, bumping Mahura from the lineup after a run of 18 appearances in 19 games. The 26-year-old Mahura has one assist, 15 shots on net, 21 hits, 12 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over 19 appearances. He's unlikely to play unless injuries arise on the Kraken's blue line.

  • Kraken's Ryker Evans: Stays in top four

Evans logged an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Vince Dunn (upper body) returned from long-term injured reserve Saturday, which was believed to be the end of Evans' run in a prominent role. Instead, head coach Dan Bylsma tinkered with all of his defensive pairings, putting Evans alongside Brandon Montour on the second pair and moving Jamie Oleksiak down to the third pair alongside Will Borgen. This is a huge vote of confidence in Evans' play, and it's well-earned -- he has five helpers over the last four games and a total of 16 points, 30 shots on net, 40 hits and 42 blocked shots across 25 outings this season. Evans also maintained a spot on the second power-play unit, so it looks like he'll retain decent fantasy value for a while.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Snags helper in loss

Montour recorded an assist, seven shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Montour helped out on a Jared McCann tally in the third period. In November, Montour posted seven points and 53 shots on net over 14 appearances. The 30-year-old defenseman is up to 16 points, 86 shots on net, 36 hits, 28 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 24 contests overall. He's providing high-end offense and well-rounded production for a blueliner, so he should be in the lineup regularly for most fantasy formats.

  • Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand: Riding five-game point streak

Bjorkstrand posted an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Bjorkstrand has two goals and four assists during his five-game point streak. He got shuffled up to a line with Matty Beniers and Jaden Schwartz in this contest, with the trio combining for the Kraken's first goal. Bjorkstrand has 14 points, 55 shots, 20 hits and a plus-3 rating across 24 appearances, making him one of the team's steadiest scorers in 2024-25 despite Bjorkstrand's noticeable dip from the level that saw him rack up 59 points in 2023-24.

  • Kraken's Matty Beniers: Ends slump with helper

Beniers posted an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Beniers had gone seven games without a point entering Saturday. He ended the drought when he set up a Jaden Schwartz tally in the second period. Beniers hasn't found much consistency on offense outside of a four-game point streak at the end of October. He's now at 11 points, 48 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, 14 hits and a plus-6 rating through 25 contests. The Kraken will likely keep juggling their lines until something clicks on offense, though that may not spark Beniers' individual play.

  • Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Lights lamp in loss

Schwartz scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Schwartz got the Kraken on the board at 10:17 of the second period. The tally was his second point in as many games, and it's a welcome sight to see the 32-year-old winger warming up on offense. He's now at five goals, 14 points, 51 shots on net, 18 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating across 25 outings this season.

  • Kraken's Jared McCann: Deposits 10th goal

McCann scored a goal on six shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

McCann had gone six games without a goal entering Saturday. He scored in the third period, but the Kraken didn't get another tally after his 10th goal of the season. The 28-year-old's recent slump has taken him back under a point-per-game pace -- he has 23 points, 65 shots on net and a plus-7 rating across 25 appearances this season.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Allows four goals in loss

Daccord stopped 19 of 23 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks.

Daccord took consecutive losses for the first time since Oct. 31-Nov. 3. The 28-year-old gave up all four goals over the first 30 minutes, but the Kraken couldn't pull off a comeback. Daccord is down to 10-6-1 with a 2.56 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 17 starts. The Kraken have lost four of their last five games while scoring just 13 goals in that span. It remains to be seen if Daccord or Philipp Grubauer gets the nod when Seattle begins a four-game road trip in Carolina on Tuesday.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Looking to bounce back

Daccord will guard the home goal Saturday versus the Sharks, per Sound of Hockey.

Daccord had his worst start of the year Wednesday in a 5-2 loss to the Ducks, allowing five goals on 33 shots. The Kraken will also be looking to bounce back after an 8-5 loss to the Sharks in San Jose on Friday. Daccord has generally been one of the top goalies in the league this season, and he'll get a little extra defensive help with Vince Dunn returning to the Seattle lineup.

  • Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Won't play Saturday

Stephenson (illness) won't play Saturday versus the Sharks due to an illness, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports.

Stephenson had three points in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Sharks, but he's apparently ended up under the weather before the rematch. The 30-year-old center will be replaced in the lineup by Mitchell Stephens, while Shane Wright could see a larger role. Stephenson's next chance to play is Tuesday against the Hurricanes.

  • Kraken's Jordan Eberle: Shifts to LTIR

Eberle (pelvis) was transferred from injured reserve to long-term injured reserve Saturday, per PuckPedia.

This move frees up the cap space necessary to lift Vince Dunn (upper body) from long-term injured reserve, which was done in a corresponding move. Eberle's timeline won't change -- he's expected to be out until the second half of February at a minimum while recovering from a pelvic surgery.

  • Kraken's Vince Dunn: Activated from LTIR

Dunn (upper body) was activated from long-term injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.

Following a 19-game absence, Dunn is poised to return to the lineup Saturday against San Jose. He has generated one goal, two assists, 10 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and four hits across four appearances this season. Dunn will probably occupy a top-four role and get power-play time versus the Sharks.

  • Kraken's Mitchell Stephens: Summoned from AHL

Stephens was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Saturday.

Stephens has three goals and one assist in 11 minor-league outings this season. The 27-year-old forward will be an option for Saturday's game against San Jose, though he could be a healthy scratch.

  • Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Pockets helper in loss

Schwartz notched an assist and went minus-2 in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Sharks.

Schwartz has been limited to three assists over his last seven contests. The 32-year-old winger was held without a shot on goal for the first time since Nov. 2 in Friday's high-scoring loss. He's been decent this year with 13 points, 47 shots on net, 17 hits, 18 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 24 appearances, which is a slightly better scoring pace than he displayed with 30 points over 62 outings last season.

  • Kraken's Ryker Evans: Produces two helpers in loss

Evans logged two assists, two hits, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Sharks.

Evans has a pair of two-assist games over his last three outings. The 22-year-old defenseman is up to 15 points, 29 shots on net, 39 hits, 40 blocked shots, 10 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 24 outings. Evans could see a reduced role once Vince Dunn (upper body) returns, but Evans has done enough to handle important minutes for the Kraken moving forward.

  • Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Tallies in Friday's loss

Gourde scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and went minus-3 in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Sharks.

Gourde continued a run of steady offense. He has three goals and four assists over his last nine contests, and he hasn't gone more than one game without a point in that span. The 32-year-old forward is up to 10 points, 29 shots on net, 38 hits, 32 PIM and 16 blocked shots across 24 appearances this season. His average ice time of 15:22 is the lowest it's been in five years, but he's still a key part of the Kraken's overall game plan.
