Kraken's Nathan Villeneuve: Posts three points Friday
Villeneuve scored a goal and added two assists in OHL Sudbury's 3-1 win over Sarnia on Friday.
Villeneuve saw a seven-game point streak end in his last appearance versus Barrie last Friday. He bounced right back in this contest with his seventh effort of at least three points this season. The 2024 second-round pick of the Kraken is up to 11 goals and 22 helpers through 20 appearances for the Wolves this season. Among OHL players with at least 30 points this season, Villeneuve has the fewest games played -- all others have logged at least three more outings than he has.

Kraken's Ryan Lindgren: Not much action on offense
Lindgren has earned just two points over 15 games since the start of November, and he was held off the scoresheet in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Lindgren has three helpers, 18 shots on net, 14 hits, 39 blocked shots, 33 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 25 outings this season. The 27-year-old's playing style is heavily defensive, though his physicality appears to be trending down this year as well. Nonetheless, the Kraken have kept Lindgren mainly on the second pairing as a counterbalance to the more talented Brandon Montour.

Kraken's Josh Mahura: Stuck outside of lineup
Mahura was scratched for the 12th game in a row in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Mahura has no path to playing time, as the Kraken haven't made changes on defense since they got their preferred six blueliners healthy in early November. The 27-year-old has two points, nine shots on net, 13 hits, 21 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 13 appearances. He'll compete with Cale Fleury if an injury opens up a spot in the Kraken's defense later in the season.

Kraken's Kaapo Kakko: Supplies two helpers in loss
Kakko notched two assists in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
This was Kakko's second game back from a lower-body injury that cost him six contests. The 24-year-old winger has had two significant absences this year, which have prevented him from getting into a rhythm. He's now at one goal, three points, 10 shots on net, three hits and an even plus-minus rating across nine appearances.

Kraken's Jani Nyman: Scores in rare chance to play
Nyman scored a goal in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Nyman played in just five of the Kraken's 14 games in November after being in the lineup for every contest in October. The winger's goal came in garbage time at 19:55 of the third period. He has four tallies, 20 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-2 rating across 16 appearances. Nyman's got a good shot, but he won't be a fantasy option if he can't stick in the lineup.

Kraken's Frederick Gaudreau: Makes play for first goal
Gaudreau scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Gaudreau picked off a pass and struck for a goal late in the first period. He cut the Kraken's deficit to 3-2 at the time, but the Oilers bounced back in the middle frame. This was Gaudreau's first goal in a Kraken uniform, and he's added two assists, 10 shots on net, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 12 appearances, primarily in a bottom-six capacity.

Kraken's Eeli Tolvanen: Lights lamp in big loss
Tolvanen scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Tolvanen ended his five-game point drought with the first-period goal. The 26-year-old winger still needs to improve on consistency, but he's carved out a middle-six role with power-play time this season. He's at four goals, 12 points, 37 shots on net, 63 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 25 appearances.

Kraken's Jared McCann: Buries goal in loss
McCann scored a goal in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
McCann has two points over three games since returning from a lower-body injury. He's at four goals, two assists, 21 shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-1 rating over eight appearances this season. McCann has seamlessly retaken a top-six role and should be in line for ample ice time at even strength and on the power play. The Kraken's weak offense isn't encouraging, but McCann should be among the team's steadiest players.

Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Sloppy in relief appearance
Grubauer stopped 14 of 18 shots in relief of Joey Daccord in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Grubauer wasn't on the hook for the loss, but this was still a poor showing for him -- arguably his worst effort of the year. The 34-year-old netminder remains at 4-0-1 through seven appearances while adding a 2.63 GAA and an .895 save percentage. Grubauer is probably due a start soon, as he's gone almost two weeks without one, though it's not yet clear if that will come Saturday versus the Red Wings.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Can't figure out Oilers
Daccord allowed five goals on 14 shots in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Oilers.
Daccord was pulled early in the second period, though Philipp Grubauer wasn't much better in stopping 14 of 18 shots the rest of the way. This was a fourth straight loss for Daccord (0-3-1), and he's given up 12 goals in that span, including one shutout in the shootout loss during that stretch. He's had some tough matchups lately, and it won't get all that easier if he starts at home versus the Red Wings on Saturday. Daccord is 7-6-4 with a 2.92 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 17 starts this season.

Kraken's Brandon Montour: Set to play Thursday
Montour (undisclosed) is expected to play Thursday in Edmonton, per the NHL media site.
Montour has five goals and 13 points in 20 appearances in 2025-26. He was considered questionable for Thursday's game because he missed practices, but the 31-year-old didn't end up spending any time out of the lineup due to the injury.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Starting rematch in Edmonton
Daccord will protect the road goal versus the Oilers on Thursday, per the NHL media site.
Daccord surrendered four goals on 25 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Oilers. He'll get a chance to redeem himself in a rematch Thursday in Edmonton, though the 29-year-old goalie has allowed 12 goals over his last five games, a 1-3-1 span for him. The Oilers have struggled this year but will be looking to replicate their effort from Saturday, which makes this a risky fantasy matchup for Daccord.

Kraken's Mason Marchment: Won't play Thursday
Marchment (undisclosed) won't join the Kraken for Thursday's game in Edmonton, per Sound of Hockey on Wednesday.
Marchment won't travel with the team, but the road trip is just one game, so he might still return Saturday versus Detroit. The 30-year-old has two goals and 11 points in 23 appearances this season. Jani Nyman is projected to draw into the lineup Thursday due to Marchment's absence.

Kraken's Brandon Montour: Managing issue, could play Thursday
Montour (undisclosed) is day-to-day ahead of Thursday's game against Edmonton, according to Emerald City Hockey on Tuesday.
Head coach Lane Lambert expects Montour to play against the Oilers, but the 31-year-old defenseman missed his second straight practice Tuesday. Montour also didn't participate in Monday's session after he aggravated something. The Kraken called it a "team decision" to keep him off the ice. He has registered five goals, 13 points, 52 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and 21 hits across 20 appearances this season.

Kraken's Mason Marchment: Labeled day-to-day
Marchment is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury ahead of Thursday's clash with Edmonton, per Emerald City Hockey.
Marchment's absence from practice Monday was deemed maintenance, but the winger has now missed two straight sessions with his undisclosed injury. If Marchment can't suit up against the Oilers, it could mean a promotion to the top six for rookie Berkly Catton or Eeli Tolvanen.

Kraken's Jake O'Brien: Trio of helpers in OHL loss
O'Brien registered three assists in OHL Brantford's 5-4 loss to Oshawa on Sunday.
O'Brien had been in a bit of a cold patch with a goal and three helpers over his previous seven contests. Despite the slowdown, he's still first in the OHL with 44 points this season, contributing 10 goals and 34 assists over 24 appearances. The Kraken prospect should continue to be among the league leaders throughout the year as he provides a strong playmaking element in a high-scoring offense.

Kraken's Clarke Caswell: Deals pair of helpers for DU
Caswell logged two assists in the University of Denver's 6-5 overtime loss to the University of Minnesota on Saturday.
Caswell is a pure playmaker, and that shows in his stat line this year -- two goals and 11 assists in 15 games. The Kraken prospect had 22 goals and 62 helpers for WHL Swift Current in the 2024-25 regular season before making the jump to the NCAA this year. He's a fifth-round pick from 2024, so he'll have a tougher road to the NHL, but the undersized winger should get a long look during his developmental years.
